19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

The problem with gun ownership in America is the ones keeping an arsenal in their basement are the most likley to shoot 15 kids.
I will say, I honestly couldn’t care less about owning guns, however my husband has what one may refer to as an arsenal in a couple of safes in our basement, and him shooting 15 kids couldn’t be further from the truth.
However, I am an educator and I am fine with more gun control. My husband and I completely disagree on that topic. I’m not sure anyone has the “right” answer.
I do know that any sane human doesn’t want more of this murdering of children. We just have to figure out how to stop it.

Has there been any discussion on how this kid afforded nicer guns than I own? DD is high end schiz.

I have around $750 in my last build, after optic, laser, and paint job. DD rifles push $2k.

I went to the website of the gunmaker today. First thing I saw was the ad for easy financing.

Here in Florida you gotta be 21 to buy a rifle now. Idk about other states or Texas itself but according to ATF you gotta be 21 as well. If Texas is also 21, he had help.
If that's true then yes. But it's not necessarily a financial thing.

And Canada or Mexico May be for you. She knew the laws and chose to break them. That’s the issue with a lot of morons nowadays, they have zero respect for law or authority.

You‘re talking about executing people for non violent drug crimes. I think I’ve got a pretty good idea who is struggling with the law here……

And tbh, in any case until then, cut the number in half
I am in the education field. I am no longer in the classroom, but I was for several years. Expecting teachers to be armed and ready to shoot an intruder is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. And then let’s pay them a whopping 40 grand (or less) per year. Many (maybe even most) teachers would lay down their lives for their students, it’s not a question of love or protective instincts. But where will a teachers responsibilities end?!

Maybe NO ONE with the exception of students and employees should be allowed inside schools. You need to pick up? Call inside and the child is brought to you. Need to drop something off? Leave it at the door and an employee will get it. It’s just getting to the point that it’s not safe for people to be coming and going.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting to make this mandatory. Have those that wish to be trained and allow them to.

What a pathetic POS

Obama/Biden had their chance in 2010 with control of the House, political cover from several recent made shootings, filibuster proof control of the Senate and they chose not to pursue any substantial gun control. His and Biden's words are just that: empty words

100%. Teachers should teach and SROs should do SRO ****. Common sense dictated after 9/11 not to arm the pilots because they had other things to do. And a large portion of them had military experience and weapons training.

I agree with this

Selling body armor to citizens will rarely serve a lawful purpose.
.... but it should still be outlawed. It reflects pre-meditated intent to engage a combatant. More often than not, this will be the police, if you are just an every-day citizen.
Wrong.

I posted a reply to K-town earlier, but he doubled down on stupidity.

You won't find many private security guards or tow rig operators that don't utilize it in my city.

I agree in general that most of the non LE purchases have little practical reason and an exceptionally few purchases are probably nefarious, but I don't trust the government to regulate it.

So then it may have absolutely no benefit at all if the intruder is not in the area of an armed employee. And where would an armed teacher keep this gun? On them like a police officer? That seems a bit dangerous. Locked away? Then how many vital moments would go by while getting to it? Would the teachers that chose to be armed be held liable in some way if an intruder was not stopped? Would teachers that chose NOT to be armed be ridiculed and judged as “cowards” or “not caring”? It opens such a can of worms.

I think you’re missing the point. I don’t mean that every staff member is required to carry. But there would be enough teachers in each school that would take that responsibility willingly and form a line of defense between themselves and the kids. I know I would and I refuse to believe that my way of thinking is lonely.

So hard to believe any 18 yo kid would have the patience to save that much

Almost as shocking as someone transparently hoping that the perpetrator was here illegally, so they can hammer home their political agenda over the top of 22 dead bodies.
