I don't know about you, but I kind of like living in a first world country. If you want to take a step towards second or third world status, please do so elsewhere.

Funny how I grew up with prayer in school. Different religions were present yet nobody complained. Some kids walked outside but none complained. But hey keeping God out of schools, the government and practically every where else is working wonders isn’t it?

Absolutely. I don’t have children. If I did, I absolutely would want security. I think all the money our worthless government spends on these ridiculous countries should stay in house. Would that solve everything? No. There is no completely defeating evil. However, I am inclined to believe if this shooter were to have encountered one or two armed vets, I think the outcome would have been much different.

Enjoy it while you can.We are in a first world country with a second world education system that is antiquated. Third world countries have public schools btw. Sorry to step on sacred cows.

I understand what they did. I understand it wasn't heroic. I understand it got more kids killed. I understand they chose to secure a crime scene rather than saving kids. Thanks but no thanks. If I ever find myself with my kid in that situation. I just won't say anything and will simply sprint into the building. I'd rather be killed going in rather than live being held back. The police are more worried about not letting the shooter get away rather than stopping the carnage.

Someone hates states rights..... if a state wants to have public schools and abortion clinics, look who wants big government to come and tell them no......

As do the many countries currently ranking above us. The difference? Education policy is shaped by educators rather than politicians. Policies and practices are given time to take hold rather than rotated through at breakneck speed hoping to find a quick fix with a comfy public-facing name. Students have less instruction time, more unstructured time, and teachers are given the space to collaborate with their peers.

You're damn right that America's education system needs an overhaul. It needs to get politicians and profiteers as far away from it as possible.

Its actually been reported that the dude wasn't killed until a tactical team went in an hour after he went into the building. Officers chose to wait a LONG time to mount the offensive that killed the shooter. One guy.
