2008 Titans

No - it's really not. Larry Fitzgerald was 6'3 225 and ran a 4.53. Britt is almost the exact same body type, without the hands/etc.

Larry has twice the catching ability and leaping ability of Britt.

I don't care what the guy ran at the combine. Have you watched Britt play? He obviously isn't close to Fitzgerald in football speed with pads on.

Britt was a stretch and would have been better taken as a mid 2nd round guy.

Any LB. They are pretty important you know - why draft a WR in the first round that was a slight stretch when we run the ball 65% of the time?

1. Our two leading receivers were a slow TE and a RB that we depend on way too much.

2. We run the ball nowhere NEAR 65% of the time. Or 55%. Think.

3. Defense is not our problem.

4. We almost never use a MLB. This would be like spending a first-round pick on a nickelback, except that we use a nickelback more.

"Strengths: Of all the top receivers in this year's class outside of Michael Crabtree, Britt has the most ideal size/speed combination. While he won't break a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, Britt's speed is good."

There are tons of evaluations like this one. Last year, it was Sweed who ESPN said had 4.5 speed that was great for a 6'5 guy. Plaxico Burress isn't especially fast either. Very few receivers are that tall and run under 4.4. Moss and Calvin Johnson are the only ones that immediately come to mind.

And most had Britt going in Round 1. So no.

1) Solve it in FA. It obvious the Titans cannot draft a WR worth a crap.

2) It was an exaggeration. Figured anyone could know that. We dink and dunk down the field - I'm glad we got a Justin Gage jr. to help us out with that.

3) It isn't now but it may very well be soon with our LB situation, safeties, and KVB and Kearse getting old.

4) You take talent. You don't reach on picks.

Most didn't have him going in the 2nd round. And Britt is 6'3. The others are 6'5. Putting Britt in the same conversation with Burress, Moss, Johnson, Crabtree is just dumb.

1. Reinfeldt has never really tried with a pick that was worth much.

2. Britt is MUCH more talented than Gage is.

3. Maualuga, again, helps none of that.

4. We did.

A position that we never use is not a position of need. Maualuga is a MLB. He's no Keith Bulluck.

Maualuga was just an example. But you're right - the NFL experts were wrong. We don't need a LB when all of our LBs are either crappy, old, or on short contracts.

Because they had him going in the first...
Please tell me Crabtree is bigger than Britt. Like, really. Please do it.

I've seen a lot of mock drafts with Britt going late first early second round.

I don't think Britt is anything special but Teel wasn't a great QB either.

So we'll see how this works out.

These are the same "experts" who trashed us for taking Griffin over Meachem and Chris Johnson over Devin Thomas. Are you serious? They simply saw Tulloch and figured we must need an upgrade.

Yes. McShay had him 25th to Miami and Kiper's isn't opening for me right now, but off the top of my head I think he had Britt 26th to Baltimore. If not, then it was 29th to the Giants which is what I thought might happen.

EDIT: I looked at an older one for McShay. Most recently, McShay had him 29th to NYG and Kiper had him 22nd to Minnesota. Not sure how that's a reach...

I can only find the 1st 16 picks.

I was talking about Moss/Johnson/Burress. Stop being a douchebag.

Acting like there is a huge difference and a different standard for speed for someone that's 6'4 versus someone that's 6'3 is much more of a douchebag move. It's obvious that most people think he has good speed for his size; I'm not saying he's Heyward-Bey.

Nothing wrong with the drafting a safety that year. But how did the WRs we drafted from that class turn out? You have draft draft a top caliber WR in the draft or hope to get lucky with one of your later picks and strike gold. Or just trade for one that is worth a crap - and not sign players like McCariens or Washington.

It's not a good thing when you're listed as a possession receiver and your weakness is catching the ball. And Britt is just as much 6'2 as 6'3 - but he has a good frame. The other guys are significantly bigger. And two of those are quite a bit faster with good hands.

"Vince Young needed help at wide receiver, and the Titans had Robert Meachem staring right at them. Michael Griffin is a nice safety, but he was a luxury pick and the Titans couldn't afford to take a safety when they needed help at other positions."

There are your "NFL experts." Reinfeldt has never made a serious effort to draft a star WR until now. Saying a third-round pick hasn't become a star in two years tells me nothing about our ability to draft players. Taking two Pro Bowlers in Reinfeldt's two first rounds does. And Nate Washington is NOTHING like Justin McCareins.

Yeah you have to be an insider to see the rest I think. But Britt is 22...eight spots before we picked him...

Congratulations. Where is Nicks listed on all this stuff?

And I would have rather had a burner drafted at WR at this point. Every guy on our roster is pretty much a possession guy it seems. The guy from Cal, name slips my mind atm, has pretty good speed but we'll see.

Yeah he's nothing like him. One is old and washed up and the other still has some playing time ahead of him. Both will have medicore careers and neither will be a legit threat for us.

First bolded sentence - no.
Second - Not really, especially not Moss.
Third - yes, but they (as I said) are pretty much the only two people that size in the NFL that can make that claim. (I'm talking about the speed.) Which is my point.
