2008 Titans

Yeah Johnson about broke 2 more runs but someone got him in the last second. Half of that wasn't Vince's fault.. as you can tell even the backup O-line can't pass block worth crap... Collins can't do anything and the receivers aren't helping out... they're blitzing 6 frequently so somebody has to be wide open.

I agree, I think the receivers really need to help Collins out.

I'm still infuriated that the defense was lax on the Macffaden run, which led to 3,i know it's pre-season,but still no excuse for that.

Yeah, pretty pathetic and hard to watch.. seems like last season :p

I didn't really see any of the game till just now but i saw stats. How did the receivers do? Or I guess what I'm asking is how many drops did they have...that's a problem they really needed to work on from last season

Yeah was worried they wouldn't get to the line to spike it in time... but wow after they reviewed that catch it took Martin like 7 seconds to snap the ball... could of cost the game right there... they had several minutes to prepare the play before that because of the booth review.

Yeah, that was bad execution after the review. I got home from my high school game just in time to see the final 5 minutes. While it may not be of any significance I thought the ending was terrific.

chris johnson will make playssss all year, that'll be exciting to watch.

yep.. he honestly needs as many touches as LW imo.. he's just so quick.. but he won't get them of course... but he needs to work on his pass catching.. he dropped 2 or 3 dumpoffs last night it seemed like... dunno if that is normal or not for him.. granted one was a high and hard throw.

Some of the runs LW gets 10-15 yards on CJ would probably take it for 30+.

Didn't get to really see McCariens or Gage because VY was way off and the O-line couldn't pass block very well for him (mainly because they were blitzing 6 constantly but he didn't adjust)... the 2nd teamers started off really bad and didn't help Collins at all... but Ealy made 2 great catches at the end on the final drive. Um, Lavelle (spelling?) Hawkins had a great catch over the middle then a 50-yard TD on a bomb.. looked good.. everyone else was pretty bad.

So Hawkins is the future 2-3 years later hope is all im getting out of that

I don't think he's the answer.. we're just going to eventually have to draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd round eventually to get the answer... because so far we haven't gotten a lucky 7th round pick like the Saints did.

This is fisher-ball though -you run the ball, have good defense and dont turn the ball over - based on that last mcnair, george, wycheck era we won't draft one. That plus every receiver we've drafted high or brought in through free agency has gotten hurt and busted (carl pickens, yancy thigpen, tyrone calico, david givens). I would not be surprised if they didn't take any high wrs in the next 2 drafts.

Shame, b/c good wrs make qbs better (& bad wrs make them worse), but good qbs can't keep bad wrs from dropping passes

Question for Titans fans. Does VY understand that passing yards and completions are good things?

That would get filed in the question box along with: Do the receivers understand that you have to hold onto the ball for it to count as a completion?

The whole "the receivers suck" argument is getting pretty tired. VY needs to get his act together, there is no reason he shouldn't be able to throw an accurate pass, because the talent is there. His biggest problem right now is his horrendous footwork, if he would learn how to set his feet when he throws he would immediately become a better quarterback.

I mean, there is a reason that the receivers look better when Kerry Collins is in.
