well maybe Askew helps us recruit him...

Thank God he doesn't have that extra "M" in his last name. Plenty of jokes waiting to happen.

This will be Kiffin's first QB recruit and he is going to be a stud. He is a man amongst boys over there in Va.

Him going to the same school as Askew helps a lot too.

Stud is right. With 7 minutes left in the first half today at the state championship game, he had already thrown 5 TD's. The receiver Tim Smith had 4 of those.

Phoebus won their state title today 37-6. They outscored their opponents this season 720-53.

They stomped my children's high school, Osbourn of Manassas, VA. To put it in context, Osbourn was a .500 team that got hot in the playoffs and knocked off 3 unbeatens to get to the finals. This blowout was somewhat expected.

Hopefully he'll lose the corn rows...those rows remind to much of Michael Vick. Just do the close cropped clean look a la Adrian Peterson and let your skills do the talking.

We (Gate City) lost to Gretna last year 52-0 in the state championship game. We expected to get beat, but maybe not that soundly. Osbourn had a great run. You have to have a talented group to make it to state in your division. Hats off to your kids up that way.

A good article about next year's talent puts Jaques Smith as the top TN prospect and ranked 3rd in the southeast among all prospects. Keiwone Malone is the next prospect on the list from TN and he is 19th overall in the southeast.

67 Receptions, 1,319 Receiving Yards, 101.4 Yds/Game, 19.7 Yds/Catch, 18 TDs, 15 PATs, 4 2-point conversions, and averages 34 Yards per punt. Leads the state in all receiving categories. Led the state as a sophomore with 62 Receptions, 1,249 yds and 12 TDs.

Pretty gaudy numbers.

Skinny guy for his height, 165lbs at 6'1", but apparently has 4.4 speed. Apparently he's a Canes fan, hopefully that will change if he ever gets offered and visits. If he really wants to be apart of a true college atmosphere he'll look elsewhere. It's just not the same without the Orange Bowl.
