2010 Prospects

Monte may come in and not run a Cover 2 defense. Who knows. He will look at tape and devise a defensive plan to stop the teams we play. A cover 2 would work perfectly on every team with the exception of Florida. Something else would have to be worked up for that game.

His defense-------------FULL MONTE

Nice...

"I was kind of shocked to see coach (Lane) Kiffin here, to be honest," Brunetti said. "Coach (Stan) Drayton came by as well. I don't know too much about him but he's young and was in the NFL. I am fired up about him and Tennessee now and I look forward to checking them out and learning more about them."

It appears CLK is "building that fence" early. :salute:

Anyone know much about this kid?

Brunetti's one heck of a player. I don't know how much depth he'd be buried under when he got here, but we all know that after this year, you can't have too much depth @ QB. He lead arguably the state's best team to the DII-AA state title.

Quarterback for MUS that went undefeated and won the state championship game by 20 points. Very mobile as well as a good passer. Had a strong year that is generating interest from many top tier programs.

He won that state titlegame against brentwood, and that says a lot if you know anything about brentwood. They are competing every year for the state title.

It only takes like 2 wins to get to the state in division II. Not knocking this kid - just saying - isn't that tough in a small division like that.

How tall do you think Kiffin want's em lol 6'6, 6'7 good enough?

I think 6'2, 6'3 is what he's looking for.

Winning that class is impressive, regardless of how many games it takes.

Division I - 5A is tougher. Division II isn't better because it has a higher number... just is the rich private school league.

I would assume most of the Division II schools would fit in nicely in 4A... the very, very elite in 5A and some of the crappier football schools like Baylor in 3A.

Or they can pluck the kids they want and give them scholarships. Playing against scholarship athletes is a much better gauge of your talent than playing some run of the mill farm kid from Trousdale County.

You actually think Baylor could stick with the bigger Chattanooga schools like Red Bank, Ooltewah, and Soddy Daisy? Or Rhea County? Keep dreaming.

Now McCallie - one of the upper echelon schools - could some what compete and give a team like Red Bank a game.

Don't kid yourself - most of these public schools have great talent. Who on McCallie's roster will go to a division I school? Ooltewah, a public school, has the #1 junior prospect in the state and a senior committed to play football and track at MTSU next year. Just because its a private school that can give out scholarships doesn't mean they have more talent.

I guess Alcoa doesn't have sucks too since they're in Division I - 3A. Division II would with the exception of the top 2 or 3 would be best suited for 4A play.

I'm saying you're going to find a better level of overall competition in say...MBA vs McCallie or MUS than Station Camp vs. Hendersonville.

This kid absolutely shredded MBA who had a pretty good team. They went to Cincinatti and beat one of the elite highschool teams in the nation this year in Moeller.

If you put BA, MBA, Ensworth, MUS, and McCallie in 5A, they would win 90% of the state championships. Look at all the great WilCo teams in the last decade, only once has one defeated BA. Heck, BA has only lost one game to a county school in its history.
