2013-14 Schedule

This is the best chance we've had in a while to steal a win in Rupp. IMO Maybe I am shortchanging their talent, but that KY team will be playing 17-19 year olds. Who have up to this point in their career won ball games off shear talent and skill. They will not be able to win by just showing up. And I am curious if Cal can get them to play defense.

One thing UT will have going for them is they are going to play defense all game every game this year. Barton will be the defensive leader, and pg leadership is something this team missed all of last year.

Everyone In tact and no major injuries or bone head off the court stuff I'm thinking 24-25 wins. Out of conference alone I only see. Two L's one in Atlantis and possibly Witchita State because that's a tough one in their house.

Our chances significantly increase if we play KY at Rupp early in the SEC schedule. At the end then advantage KY. Either way, they will already be battle tested by the time they face us. They have a decent OOC schedule. Either way, it will be a good match up.

I agree. As long as we don't have a major breakdown in OOC. We are setting ourselves up pretty nice.

1. Breakdown would be to lose any of the:
NC State (rpi @ 100-150)
Tenn Tech (rpi 200+)
Tenn State (rpi 200+)
USC Up. (rpi 150+)
Citadel (rpi 300+)

2. Or Flame out in the BFA tourney going 1-2

3. Or losing 2-3 by VA, Witchita, and Xavier

I think we go 2-1 in the BFA tourney

Toss up with Witchita. Win Virginia and Xavier. Tough one with NC State IMO. The rest we should win.

NC State? They are coming off a NCAA Tournament appearance after going 24-11 and just signed a top 15 class with 3 top 100 players.

I know they are losing some players but still not a bad opponent. I wouldn't think their RPI would be 100-150. Could be wrong though, JMO.

NC State had their shot last year. They lost their entire starting 5. Expectations from what I have seen is bottom half of the ACC. They haven't finished in the last 20 years above 150 RPI, so that's where I put the limit at for them.

Yeah, I really want to see TN go up against a young Wiggins. Definitely will be a game to remember. About like the TN / TX game with Durant.

I would kinda like to see Wiggins get banged around by our horses. He looks like a heck of a player, but a little light in the pants to be banging down low.

He may put up 40 against us, but I like our chances as good as anybody else for containing him.

W over KS would probably vault TN to close to top 10. With our OOC schedule, we could stay there for awhile.

Below is a quick breakdown of NC States expectations that I copied:

No. 14 North Carolina State
The battle for last place will be a battle between the Wolfpack and the Hokies. Even Mark Gottfried has to be scratching his head trying to figure out how things got so bad so fast. North Carolina State is losing all five starters and will rely on two sophomores, three freshman, two transfer juniors and one overrated senior (Vandenberg). T.J. Warren will be the star and this will probably be his last year in college, but the reality is, the Pack need their three freshman (SG) Anthony Barber, (PF) Kyle Washington and (C) BeeJay Anya to get real good, real fast.

I would love to see that game and believe we will see it to be honest. I remember the the tn tx game and couldn't stop watching it.

Best game I've ever witnessed. Tooper Taylor felt the same, cause we were leaving the game and dude was diving in cars to give high fives.

Shout out to Troop!... on a basketball board too

Sorry Freak

The UT / TX can be seen on Youtube. I've watched it several times on there. It's amazing how well the Freshman Chism, Cruze, and Ramar Smith played. Chism / Cruze totally dominated the paint. We sometimes forget how special Ramar was his Freshman year after being clouded by drugs the following year. Lofton actually hit 3 3pointers over Durant.

Besides watching that game I liked watching the Memphis game as well. When we beat them to move to number 1.

Since we're reminiscing, anybody remember the missed free throw by Allan Houston that led to a 3 point play by Corey Allen? Saw that one when I was young, and till the Pearl days, that game was one of the coolest for me.

Still the best UT game I ever witnessed.
