2013-14 Schedule

A little back on topic, but does anyone think we'll continue to play Oakland? I believe Pearl scheduled our back to back appearances with them, but they felt like they were becoming a rival. Any thoughts?

I thought the Oakland series was really a Tony Jones deal, he is from the Motor City and his dad had something to do with Oakland?

How long until the SEC schedule comes out? September?

I'm gonna say we win 22-23 regular season games, and I think we win at least one game in the SEC tourney. I think this team has potential to be really good, but I'm trying to temper expections a little bit.

I thought I posted it in this thread but can't find it, but I know I posted it somewhere....about Dave Hart saying we almost had a deal with a blue blood for home/away but it fell through.

Turn out it apparently was Michigan State, damn that would've been awesome.

While the schedule this year is fine, I thought they would try to avoid games like the Citadel. If there is a chance that a team may not win 10 games, then don't play them. The Ohio Valley schools all had around .500 records (a little below). We will probably make up for it in playing 6 solid games. But, you have to be careful because NC State and Wichita State won't be as good as last year and will not have high RPI's.

The Citadel is actually related to the Battle 4 Atlantis, so that wasn't really up to them. Otherwise, yeah I'd agree with you, Kennesaw State and Presbyterian definitely hurt us RPI wise.

Citadel actually is tied in with the B4A, but will still be played at TBA...odd setup.

Tennessee has also added a D2 opponent in tusculum that they will play this year. Taking a page out of MTSUs handbook, looking to add a W without hurting your RPI.

Yea, I saw that after I posted it. I wonder if UT had any influence with that game because I would have told them no way. I would prefer Coastal Carolina, Charleston Southern, or UNC-Asheville, and a list of others instead of the Citadel, and the Citadel is my father-in-law's alma mater. lol.

Didn't Coach Martin reach out to a couple high profile teams but didnt happen for whatever reason?

We were very close to a home/away with Michigan State starting this year. It was almost done, but fell through, that's why teams are being added late that aren't too impressive. The staff thought they were gonna have a marquee game, but it fell through and is being replaced by lesser teams who are available on short notice.

Michigan State would have been great. Plus, we owe them lol.

This has to be the worst season for season ticket holders. The home opponents are horrible. There is one game until January worth watching.

Nc State and Virginia should be pretty decent games to attend no?

Like I've mentioned in this thread, the Michigan State deal falling apart hurt our schedule.
