UConn has a chance to get in the B1G.
Cincy has none. Their academics aren't up to their standards.
Memphis needs to beg the Big 12 to let them in.
Cincy is an outstanding academic school. I don't know if this is something you've heard, or you know all the numbers, but I would be shocked if the quality of academics holds Cincy back from anything.
Seriously? Can't say that I am an expert on knowing what schools are great academically, but I don't think I have ever see Cincy and good academics in the same sentence.
So now vultures troll everyone? The analogy still fails the way you've described it.
I also never claimed that Memphis was going to the ACC. Now you're just manufacturing things.
Well I was trying very hard to get into their master's program for music composition. I can tell you all for a fact that Cincy's CCM is a top-notch music school, up there with Indiana, Peabody, Rochester, etc.
According to USNews, they're ranked 139 in all universities (public and private). They may not be stellar as a whole (as I first thought), but they are definitely not lacking in academics.
Some UM fans on here have claimed that the Big East was the top hoops league. It may not have been you who said that, but in my post that you replied to, I didn't say that you said that. I referenced UM fans generally. So, I didn't "manufacture" anything.
Regarding the vulture analogy, my point is that it's goofy to accuse Vol fans who make light of UM's situation on VN of being vultures. A vulture goes looking for something that's dead. BTO didn't go looking for a UM fan. He's on VN. You came here. If you walk inside our house, we're not "vultures" for making light of your situation with the Big East.

lol at Memphis State. But seriously OVC might be y'all's best bet. Thoughts?
Rumors of Memphis, UConn, Cincy, USF, Temple, UCF, SDSU, Boise forming a new all-sports league, and leaving behind the Big East brand. Grabbing some MWC teams like New Mexico and UNLV, then regrettably some old C-USA teams.
That's probably the best realistic bet for Memphis. Things would change if UConn or Cincy get called up to the big leagues.
I kinda like the idea of the new league. Throwback to the old Metro League.

All signs point to the Big East breaking up, and the father of Memphis commit Austin Nichols (Eads, Tenn./Briarcrest High) isn't too happy about it. The Tigers, currently in Conference USA, were set to join the almost-defunct conference next season.
"Memphis going to the Big East played a role in Austin choosing Memphis, not necessarily a big, big role," Mark Nichols told Jerry Meyer of 247 Sports. "But we knew Memphis was coming out of Conference USA to go to the Big East, and that was a plus. We could have gone to the ACC or anywhere, but everyone was saying Memphis is going to the Big East.
"Someone needs to get a grip on this situation. Enough is enough. I'm a little bent out of shape. I'm not happy about it. It irritates me that these young kids make a decision and are bound by it, and then these big schools are jumping wherever they want to go."
Other players and coaches Meyer spoke with seemed to have little issue with the move. Whether or not the conference's future impacts other recruits remains to be seen, though it's certainly something to keep an eye on.
