2013 F Austin Nichols (Memphis Briarcrest)

^ if you read the comments, yes he's obviously upset. Doesn't mean he's going to throw away his wardrobe though....He flat out said "I'm bent out of shape" lol

Can't say I blame him though. He pushed his son to sign with a coach who is in his 4th year and still can't beat a ranked team, and a school that is going to be in a conference similar to C-USA after thinking they'd be in the big east.

if you read the comments, he's "bent out of shape" at the on-going conference realignment process and the big schools that are jumping around. Somewhat ironic that that includes Memphis jumping to the BE and giving his son the opportunity to play there.

Will be interesting to see how the landscape changes.

Yea he's upset because he was excited I'm sure that his kid was gonna be in the best basketball league in the country. Now all of a sudden it looks like Memphis will be in a league similar or possibly even worse than what they were already in.

If by interesting you mean Memphis is about to be left out in the cold, then I agree.

I wish they'd just come out and say that Austin had no part in this decision. His dad is looking more and more like an idiot. Stop speaking to the media.

Don't think Mark wanted Austin at TN because of our offensive style. Can't blame him there.
According to what I've read Memphis was Austin's choice.
Wanted to stay home and play with guys he knew.

He was given a choice of Memphis and Duke, he was never going to Duke for the reasons you mention.

Tough, tough L. From where I was sitting, Memphis thoroughly outplayed Louisville. Bad news is that Pastner won't get another shot at beating a resume quality team this season. Good news is, if the same Memphis team that lost to Louisville shows up for every other game this season, we don't lose again til mid-March. Silver lining at least.

Memphis outplayed them the first 15 minutes or so...the rest of the game was all Louisville really.

It's time for Josh to put Adonis on the bench and start Stephens.....................

Drawing fouls is part of the game, Louisville played smarter than Memphis, UL made the adjustments.

Garbage. Memphis was the aggressor, Memphis was forcing the tempo. Memphis made all the adjustments that need to be made when there's an officiating discrepancy, and the calls kept coming. Once UL started knocking down 3s when we were forced into zone, that was the proverbial "nail".

Again, a well played game all around, but officiated differently there is a different winner. I'm not trying to harp on it, and I'm not much for moral victories, but it makes me feel good about where this team is headed.

Never thought you'd stoop to blaming the officials...oh wait, yea I did.

Louisville won and was the better team, they made the proper adjustments and they have a coach who knows how to coach, pretty much that simple.

No offense, but this is the very type comment that would you draw your ire and ridicule if made by someone else.

Solid response, and still won't give Pasty a chance at beating a ranked opponent. What's that 4 years now with no wins over a ranked opponent?

What's the excuse this year, that Memphis team has the 2nd most talent in the country, so whats the issue?

Clash of two underwhelming teams on Jan 4th. Good news is that someone's gotta win.

So, it had nothing to do with Memphis 15 first half TO's that allowed UL to get in the game? Or the fact UM stupidly shot 17 three's? Or the fact Memphis had 24 TO's total to UoL's 12...and UoL had 29 points off turnovers.

Yes, Louisville had 32 free throws in the second half. However, half of those were in the final two minutes with Memphis trying to get to slow the game down. 16 FT's in 18 minutes is nowhere near getting all the calls.

Besides, the first half was called evenly, Louisville had only a +2 FT advantage in the first half.
