2013 F Austin Nichols (Memphis Briarcrest)

Show me some sites that have McRae and Stokes on their mock drafts this year...there's several that have Thomas and Goodwin.

Find them yourself, I'm simply going on what a UTK fan agreed to in here.

But I think Stokes and McRae are future NBA'ers. I'll entertain evidence to the contrary however.

I don't see what the NBA has to do it. Memphis' two best players are fringe prospects at best.

In other words you can't find any because there aren't any...Thomas and black are widely regarded as NBA guys and appear on almost all drafts...stokes and McRae not so much.

And so would you like to alter the "Pastner can't beat top 25 teams" statement?

What do you want?

What I want is for you to find where I said "Pastner can't beat top 25 teams." I said St Mary's wasn't a consensus top 25 team. I said Memphis can't beat teams with comparable talent.

Can't alter something I didn't say.

Going off what?

Thomas and Goodwin will probably move on to the NBA from Memphis.

Stokes and McRae from UTK.

The rest of the guys on both teams are mostly 4 stars (Hall, Golden, Black, Crawford), some threes (DJ Stephens, Richardson, Ferro Hall, Antonio Barton). Joe is a 5 star for Memphis.

Am I missing something?

I think both guys (Thomas and Goodwin) need 1 more year before making that jump to the NBA. and im a huge Adonis fan.... Just my 2 cents, but I think it would do both players some good.

Not really, so try again.

Look up the "stars" for the top 8 guys on each team...I'll wait.

Stars? ok, just off the top of my head..

Stokes 5 star (future NBA)
McRae 4 star (future NBA)
Golden 4 star
Maymon 4 star (injured)
Hall 4 star
Richardson 3 star
Edwards 3 star
McBee Slawdog

Goodwin 5 star (future NBA)
Thomas 5 star (future NBA)
Jackson 5 star
Black 4 star
Stephens 0 star
Crawford 4 star
Johnson JuCo
Hall 3 star
Barton 2 star

You act like the grand canyon separates the talent on these teams.

So has the narrative for Pastner changed from "he can't beat top 25 teams" to "he can't beat consensus top 25 teams"?

If so, who cares?

Dumb metric is dumb.

I haven't looked, I simply asked someone on here and they agree that UTK probably has two future NBA players.

If you want to present countervailing evidence, be my guest.

No, try and keep up. My narrative is, and has been, that memphis can't beat teams with equal talent. You are tooting your horn over a top 25 win. All I pointed out was St Mary's was in one poll out the other. If you're going to read things I don't write and argue with that then I guess you're gonna win that one.

It always comes back to UT, doesn't it?

Not sure what my allegiance has to do Pastner's incompetence, but OK. Or is all you care about being better than UT?

Glass houses, man.

The point is that you're not a very good judge of mediocrity, if you're claiming Pastner is mediocre yet Martin is not.

Sure, Martin has been average so far. He hasn't had as much time as Pastner, nor has he had the talent (a point which I know you contest for some reason).

Well, apparently we're the most "talented" team in the world and we've played no one who is our equal.

But now selected top 25 teams aren't good teams, so I guess Pastner just can't win.

Well, Pastner made the NCAA's his second year, and technically this is Martin's fifth (if I recall) year of being an HC.

Because the teams actually have 2 NBA'ers each. Stokes would've been the equivalent of a MCD's AA, Jackson was probably overrated a bit.

Here you go again...you keep saying Tennessee 2 NBAers equal Memphis 2 NBAers. Thomas and Goodwin are commie names on mock drafts, show me a few with stokes and McRae since you keep saying the 2 are equal.

With the benefit of hindsight, let's re-rank those...

You're not the most talented team in the world. You have played a few teams who are your equal. You've lost every time.*

*St Mary's was ranked in the coaches poll and unranked in the AP.

That should clear this all up.

OK? I'm not really concerned with what he did at Missouri State. If he doesn't make the tournament next year I will be right there with you.

Dude, if you disagree, then fine, throw up some links where Stokes and McRae aren't taken in the next 3 NBA drafts.

But stop with the broken record stuff. We all heard you the first time.

I'm just saying, Martin got a few extra "practice seasons" before being thrown into the fire at UT. Pastner had to get right to it.
