2013 F Austin Nichols (Memphis Briarcrest)

I'm saying... that the introduction to that conversation is probably the funniest thing ever:

BTO: Hi, uh, Austin... Mr. Nichols. My name is [BTO].
Nichols: Yeah, what can I do for you?
BTO: Can I get a statment on your recent trip to Memphis Madness?
Nichols: Uh, sure, which recruiting service are you with, again?
BTO:..... none, really. I"m just a random poster on this Tennessee message board and these Memphis fans have really gotten out of hand lately. I just need something to shut them up.
Nichols: Uh, ok. ::puts hand over the phone to explain this conversation to his friend sitting next to him, stiffled giggles::

If BTO will let you, you should see his work. You will see why he talks to recruits.

Lol, didn't mean to. I do see why you or anyone else would be skeptical, to be fair. But from what I've seen, I would HOPE that BTO is actually talking to recruits.

I'm just trying to bust balls on a Friday. I don't know BTO personally and if I did, I probably wouldn't be able to give him such a hard time.

You're more than welcome to join us prior the exhibition game for some food and drinks.

Enough with playing nice. If you two start getting along, lurking in here will become a lot less fun.

Although, that membjs character seems to have some potential.

MC actually has some and can make some educated points every now and then...

That membjs cat is like arguing with a special ed...there's no point in it, because even when you make him look like an idiot you're gonna feel like an a$$hole.

I just feel bad for people that are that dumb, they have no hope in life.

BTO, I know the usual answer about nothing is certain until the ink dries, but how concerned are you about AN going somewhere other than UT? TIA

Honestly...not overly. I don't feel as certain as i did a week ago, but that's due to the madness visit, and rescheduling of auburn visit. I would be surprised if he ends up anywhere other than Tennessee though in the end.

Austin on his decision to go to Memphis Madness. This makes me feel a little bit better.

Austin Nichols tells @GaryParrishCBS, "It was something that popped in my head. So I decided to go." re. attending Memphis Madness.

“@BFQuinn: Austin Nichols tells @GaryParrishCBS, the most important things in his recruitment is "style of play" and "relationship with the coach."”

Austin walked into the FedExForum and chants broke out "We Want Austin" and his mom smiled and told a friend who happened to be sitting next to a Memphis sports writer that "she would love to see that too". Also, he is wearing a Memphis Tiger shirt. Jarnell didn't and we see where he ended up. BTW Jarnell seen as a sellout here in Memphis.

He's the star of the night, truthfully, so when Briarcrest forward Austin Nichols strolled in with his family (Mark, dad; Kim, mom; Ashley, twin sister) the Memphis student section reacted with a chant of, "We Want Austin!"

It's a significant development that Nichols is even in FedExForum tonight. The Tigers have emerged as a real possibility for the five-star prospect, who is also considering Tennessee, Duke, Virginia, Auburn, and Vanderbilt.

We'll have more on Nichols after the event.

I don't think he would be wearing the orange to that event......Would of been funny as hell though.

Jarnell is a sellout to the memphis fans who are mad he didn't choose memphis.... Not the whole city.

I'm getting worried.

For what? Because The student section knew he was coming and prepared to do chant?? Of the kid picks Memphis because of a stunt put on by the student section to sway him he never was "committed" to Tenn in the first place. Everyone knows how memphis madness works around this city. I can almost bet he has been to them before. Nothing real special.

He has been to many memphis madness', nothing is going to be a "surprise" to him. And as far as wearing tiger blue, did you really think he'd wear orange there? He also wears Florida clothing to school, should we assume he's going there now?

And fwiw, attendance is very poor from what memphis writers are saying...wonder how Nichols takes that...couldn't even pack the house for him eh?

For what it's worth. I saw some twitter action between AN and a tiger fan that I actually kinda know... She told Austin she supports the tigers and Pastner 100% but players need to choose what make them happy.. Good luck.... Austin replied.. Thank you for understanding.

You are so full of it and living in denial. FYI, Jarnell was there last year and wore no school affiliation whatsoever. And as for Memphis Madness, there's a near packed house as we move towards the main portion of the event.

If I were UT, I would be really concerned by him wearing a UM shirt. You can spin it any way you like but many are now saying the same thing.

You're right, I'm the one in denial...you think a kid wearing a Memphis shirt to Memphis basketball event means he's a Memphis lock is beyond laughable. I'm willing to bet you now hell be wearing tennessee clothing next week, and auburn the week after that. Just like he was wearing duke on his visit there.

And no it's not a packed house, just saw a pic...but go ahead and post your pic of this "packed house" please.
