You obviously haven't seen the reports within the last hour. ACC officials are in talks with both Louisville and UCONN about joining the ACC. UCONN may even announce as soon as Tuesday some reports say...so no, I'm not high.
Sure thing. Just like there have been "reports" that Clemson and FSU are joing the SEC, right?
UofL didn't jump when the B12 came knocking, they sure as hell aren't going to jump for the ACC.
As for UConn, who cares where UConn goes. Does the ACC really want another Boston College?
Use your brain.
So UCONN=BC????
That's a new low, even for you.
You don't have to admit it, and I doubt you will...but the Big East has definitely lost its luster and appears like its going to continue. They used to be clear cut top basketball conference, now they're more like 3rd or 4th.
From the guy that was prasing UCONN about how stacked the BE is....Smh MC smh.
The "Lousiville/UConn to the ACC" is a nice angle that will up ESPN's site visits, but at the end of the day if Louisville said no to the Big 12, then why would things be different with the ACC?
Do you know anything about UConn? It's a great basketball school which is all I'm concerned about from Memphis' perspective, but the ACC is concerned with other things...
Does it have a good academic pedigree? No.
Does it help out with football notoriety? Hell no.
Does it bring eyeballs to TV sets? Meh, about as much as Boston College.
There you go.
I really have no dog in your all's battle, but the reality of Louisville saying "no" to the Big 12 was because the Big 12 at the time was bleeding out. No one knew if it would continue to be a conference. I don't blame them for not accepting the Big12. With all the movement going on right now, the only conferences with "stability" (meaning no one is going to leave) is the SEC, Big10, and PAC12. The Big12 may still not survive. I'm an SEC fan, but an appreciator of the BE because I love basketball. It is a shame that all the talent (with football programs) is leaving the BE. I expect more of the A10 or CAA to start bumping up to the BE. As far as stability is concerned, the ACC is way more stable than the BE at the present.
So the ACC is worried about the football programs of schools they're bringing in? That really explains adding football powerhouses Syracuse and Pitt to the ACC.
And if you don't realize UCONN brings more eyeballs than a team like Pitt, then YOU'RE the one who doesn't know anything about UCONN.
Hahahaha
