2020 Presidential Race

I agree that they want to be delicate. That’s why they haven’t simply invaded and resolved the situation. However, they feel comfortable with the added pressure because it’s simply not as large a portion of the GDP as it used to be.
I doubt that they feel comfortable. Seeing all those people in the streets is very bad for their "face" and very bad for world opinion if it escalates, which it probably will. I don't see the problems that created it going away and it can't stay this way either. Something has to happen and China has to be in control. Not a good scenario.

free free free. free money to everyone free everything to everyone except of course those evil evil rich people

So you truly can’t think of specific policies that each candidate is for? If this is your holistic opinion of all of the Democratic candidates, then you are woefully ignorant on the subject.

Well for healthcare...
From most progressive to least...

Bernie: Medicare for All
Warren: Medicare for All
Tulsi: Medicare for All
Harris: Flip Flops
Pete: Public Option
Beto: Public Option
Klobuchar: Public Option
Booker: Public Option
Biden: Expand Obamacare

But Hong Kong is a very big problem, the goose that lays the golden eggs is upset and China doesn't know what to do without killing the goose.

Hong Kong is a problem for them. I don't know how it will play out. I had to look it up and found (if true) Hong Kong made up over 20% of China's GDP in the mid 90s. By 2017 due to China's overall economic growth in now makes up about 3%.

This is your defense on you seemingly to be unaware of the candidates actual policies?
I have heard sounds bites form your candidates, wow. They scare the f out of me. Most of them want free everything, one loser even said give every American $1000 a month. Who pays for all that? When hill let Bernie pull her left, it changed the landscape of your party and not for the better

You are missing a lot. Younger people have been indoctrinated to believe that protecting the environment is important. This involves an entire value system including the concept of "green technology". They see what Trump has done to the EPA and how little regard he has for the environment. They are also more inclined than an elderly person to believe in social engineering. It really shouldn't be hard to understand why Trump would have very little appeal to them.
People underestimate the importance that Millennials place on environmental protection, conservation, climate change, and green industry/tech. Add to this criminal justice reform and social issues regarding racial/ethnic/gender/LGBTQ equality. Republicans, especially Trump, have nothing to offer on those issues.

I see a more traditional, slightly even divide on economic issues, gun control, and abortion. Maybe a bit center left, but not bloodthirsty raving commies like some posters believe.

Basically, Millennials are overwhelmingly socially progressive and environmentally conscious. Republicans will continue to have issues reaching us until they progress on some of their thinking.

1) Soundbites are hardly an understanding.
2) What is your knowledge of the rational behind Yang’a UBI idea that you mentioned?

Speaking of flip-flops, I read a good joke on Reddit last night about Kamala:
"Harris backtracks so much she will eventually be a single-celled organism."

I can't conceive of a progressive (which I consider myself to be) sitting out the election with full knowledge that by doing so, they increase the chances of 4 more years of Trump. I would take a centrist any day, every day over Trump.

Welcome to my 2016. But I still find it worth saving. Now should Trump win in 2020, that would be the proverbial nail in the coffin.

I consider all self proclaimed “progressives” as actual “regressives”. It actually fits.

Trump signs criminal justice overhaul

Racial ... it’s against the law to discriminate based on race or color . That’s equality.
Ethnic .. see paragraph above . This is Equality .
Gender ... science tells us their are only two , anything else is a social concept, also see 1&2 . Equality
LGBTQ... see 1&2 about discrimination based on sex . So Equality .

Exactly what are millennials searching for ? There’s no such thing as MORE equality only EQUALITY.

It is sad that in a single day Trump yet again sides with Putin and does his bidding, and at the same time criticizes a former President and a couple of European leaders, and there is no disgust at him. We've all become so desensitized to his being a Russian stooge that we've just come to accept it.

Institutionalized discrimination is still very much a problem. In theory there is equality, but not in practice. There is still much work to be done.
Then there are these regressive, discriminatory immigration policies based on race and religion coupled with police/ICE brutality and private, for-profit prisons and cash bail. Things like racial profiling, stop and frisk tactics are still a glaring issue.

This doesn't even address our cultural mores about othering based on race, religion, and sexuality. That will likely take a multi-generational change in attitudes .

This doesn't mean everyone is racist or sexist. It just means we need to keep progressing on these issues with good policy to root out institutionalized bias.
