2020 Presidential Race

Looking at what he promised and what he's accomplished, I have no doubt pre-existing conditions would be any different.

You do understand he was lying... he firmly opposes allowing pre existing conditions. It's pure demagoguery. Trump lies like most people breathe.

Maybe Mexico will pay for it?

Has anyone introduced you to the lefts candidates yet, and their lying / pandering for votes policies ? Lol

Allow insurance companies to increase rates based on preexisting conditions and things will get scary for many of us very quickly.

Allow insurance companies to deny coverage for X months for pre-existing conditions, and the bankruptcy paperwork will start to flow.

Being CID is already a full time job on its own, navigating doctor and hospital policies and figuring out how to do things so you're not paying six payment plans from one procedure. It's as if there's a segment of our population that sees being poor or disabled as weakness and likes kicking us when we're down.

Out of curiosity who do you feel should pay? Why do you feel health insurance has to be so different from all other insurance, even more so than it is now? Should the healthy person be equally bankrupt or financially strapped paying for something they really don’t need? Should the burden fall even more on the taxpayer who is already paying more than they should? Identifying problems is easy but solutions not so much. I know I want to pay less in taxes and less for healthcare. Maybe people that don’t hardly work or pay taxes getting buttloads of free money this time of year is a good place to start.

I work hard to provide for my family, and my disability limits what I am able to do to earn more. Why should I and others in this situation be financially penalized because of issues completely out of our control? How do we suddenly generate $10k or $20k more per year to pay for the Bad Genetics / Bad Accident survivor tax?

Also, why do you keep going to free stuff and unemployed as a default in reply? Are you trying to label the disabled in a way that makes us easier to dismiss? Are you saying that we are throw-away humans who are just a drain on your bottom line?

Well it IS a "weakness", but it doesn't mean disabled people aren't people or worthy of help. I think the issue lies NOT with the actual poor and disabled, it goes back to two fundamental factors:

1) how much should the Government be required to take from able bodied taxpayers to fund the 48-51% of Americans who don't pay taxes? Should it be easier to let private charities/churches/etc. make up the difference and decide who REALLY needs it, rather than some bureaucrat who wastes taxpayer money instead of actually helping those who need it?

2) If you have to have government assistance, the programs should actually be to HELP those who really need it, not the huge amount of fraud, laziness, and gaming the systems that go on now...There are people on disability for trivial things that easily could get a job but refuse, because they make more money from welfare. Same with some single mothers in lower income neighborhoods, it is more profitable to have 3 kids and get tax credits, food stamps AND welfare than to get a job. This kind of think breeds generations of people who are useless to society and only breed more poverty/crime/welfare thru their children and grandchildren...That cycle has got to end and the fraud/waste HAVE to be kept in check

Why should anyone that is a victim of situations out of their control be financially penalized regardless of the situation?

Biden campaign already blaming each other...he needs to make it till Super Tuesday to rack up a few wins
Biden campaign agonizes over Iowa shellacking
It amazes me how candidates all the time are in such denial and out of touch. Can’t they see the sparse crowds and lack of enthusiasm? They lie to themselves and think “hey I am Joe Biden and I was VP so I am entitled”.

You need to attack the healthcare corporations. Not insurance. Healthcare corporations are the ones overpricing everything.

Just wanted to gauge the leftness of our posters here...You guys would vote for a proud socialist over Trump, who despite some flaws, has delivered a good economy and kept us out of conflicts?

Lol most of them would vote for a moss covered rock , if it meant Trump was out of the Oval Office . They wouldn’t just throw the baby out with the bath water , they’d throw the baby , the tub , the hot water heater , and set fire to the house to make sure Trump was out . It’s amazing to watch .

I voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 and will probably vote for him this year. I’ve never liked Trump. I do appreciate that the economy is humming along and I like how he gives the middle finger to the media and the democrats. That’s not enough to get me to vote for him. Stop the trade protectionism. Stop the silliness on the border. End our involvement in Afghanistan.

To me this is akin to boycotting a well made movie because you don't like the star.

Voting for Gary Johnson (if he's the L nominee) is truly a waste of a vote. It just encourages the L party to remain irrelevant, vote Green Party until the Ls pull their heads out of their azzes.

Greens are too far to the left and I’ll always associate them with Ralph Nader and the psychotic Cynthia McKinney. Your point is taken, though. The L’s should be more focused on local and state offices.

Biden's in serious trouble. If he has a terrible showing in NH, it's going to be a steep uphill battle for him going forward.

He's already losing ground in SC. Latest poll shows only a 5% lead over Sanders, which was previously well over double digits.

I know polls don't mean much, but dayum.
