I am guessing Carter is all but gone to the pros. This spot in the draft, along with other circumstances, lead me to believe that he will nvr be a Vol.

as predicted, CDS will be hunting for players he hasn't even thought about for next year until the recent vacancies. Lets hope he's successful in swooping in and grabbing a few...like he did Zach Warren when the Tulane coach was let go.

I am very confident he knows all about Ryder. Ryder played for Diamond Simcox Academy in summer ball. Young guys make their decisions for all kinds of reasons and I hope that CDS will get a chance and another chance and however many it takes to bring home guys like Ryder. CAT and CLS know who we need and who we can get also. Between the three of them we have a very good recruiting team. They will need more than 1 year to prove it IMHO, but my bet is that this coming season will be enough to get that time. Lets get past the draft and see, but the 2016 class is a much better group than most want to predict. PG rankings do not tell the whole story.

I agree that the 2016 class is solid. If we are able to keep several of the drafted high school players in Knoxville, we will definitely be on the upswing. Also noticed the commitments for 2016 and the 2017 class (so far) seem to be the bigger and taller type of player that you typically see in the SEC...especially the pitchers.

I like the pitcher bios too. Look at the experience these guys have in high level tournament ball. Sure it is impressive if they play well in high school but even more impressive is how they play against the same caliber of guys they will see in the SEC. One other thought. I heard a very good pitching coach say that big frame guys have to prove they can't pitch. Everyone else has to prove they can. I mention that not to disagree with the size matters trend, but to cast a vote for the smart, experienced, real estate agents (location) that come in all shapes and sizes. If they throw strikes and like the taste of gator, I don't care if it crosses the plate at 72 or 92, just shove.

Way to go out on a limb there Jimmy. Anyone who has paid any attention at all has to have known that Pence and ZachL are the top two likely to go.

Just hoping we can keep the draft damage to a minimum.

I am pretty sure the one that is going first will be Tre Carter of Soddy Daisy. Lingo is next but I think he may actually come to UT. Word is that Pence may not be taken but who knows.

Hmm...well we obviously have the 8 seniors, Senzel...then Cammarata and Harris, but we have 15 guys coming in this class assuming Carter doesn't make it...so we have to make some room anyway. I mean, obviously we're gonna hear more names since we only had 6 players in the 2017 class until getting the 7th today.
