Compete or win? Compete, yes. Winning those games will be up to how the staff maximizes those players once they are here. We have to get back to winning with what we have before we can get the top talent consistently, that goes back to coaching. Win the games you're suppose to win and knock off a few teams you're not supposed to in the process. That is what made Barnes successful early on at Tennessee.

I know everyone wants the TN kids or the local Knox area kids to be lady Vols and I am sure some on this board may know these young ladies personally which makes you want them lady vols even more. But and I don’t know the answer but are any of these kids being recruited by any of these other schools?

Ace has an offer by WVU and has for awhile.

I do think it’s different when they play for national level travels teams and are their best players. 2022 recruiting has been screwed by covid across the board. Only the early exposure “top” recruits have had and normalcy. Majority who have cut the LVs

Edit: just an FYI Rae Burrell wasn’t ranked until her junior year bc she hadn’t been playing the circuit since middle school

Don’t know the teams that have offered Ace other than WVU. Looking at what we need she might be a good fit according to Majors. I can’t give an opinion since I haven’t seen her play. I have seen the other girl (Weathers) play a few times. She won the MVP award in the State Tournament as a freshman. Her team finished runner-up and that award has always went to a player on the winning team. If she was on the team right now she would be the only guard that could catch and shoot the 3 and also shoot the 3 off the bounce at a 35-40% clip. Maybe CKH has a legitimate reason for not recruiting her hard and closing this out. However I do know that she has offers from teams better than us and ranked ahead of us. Kentucky and Indiana.

Are you in the know that CKH isn’t recruiting her hard? I know this coaching staff keeps things close to the vest.

Honestly no. I have talked to multiple people that are supposed to be in the know and I have said before that I trust these sources. If Weathers winds up in a program ranked ahead of us then I think it is safe to say CKH didn’t close or couldn’t close on a homegrown talent.

What if we get a top 5 guard instead of her? Do we still look at it like this... i have no idea i’m just curious

We won’t... and I’d take Karly over her. Some people only think elite basketball comes with a number beside your name... LOL I wonder why the LVs suck then? Top recruits left and right and nothing but a dwindling national presence to show.

I’m not sure we only have 1 spot for 2022.
I think Covid rosters are lengthened for a few years to come. If we do only have 1 spot then sure, take the top 5 player. However I don’t see that happening. More likely CKH holds out for that top 5 recruit only to lose out to S. Car or UConn. Weathers won’t be available and likely will have committed to a team better than us at the moment. That would be a lose lose for CKH and the program.
