Offers from Iowa State, WVU, Texas Tech (not sure with the coaching change) and numerous smaller D1 schools. I've seen the kid since she was 5 play sports... didn't matter the game, she was the best one on the court/field/track. Fastest, most athletic, confidence etc. Not knocking Weathers or playing A school ball because she has shown she can play, but if she's playing AAA is she avg. 25 points a game through her first 4 games? At 6'1 Ace is as fast as majority of point guards with the ball, can knock down 3's at any moment or hit a mid range for 8-10 quick points. She plays at a high level in travel ball which helped her to distribute the ball, play aggressive defense and play a role. She's shown already at HS that she can take a game over or be a role player and still avg over 21 points in a blow out.

Just a side note, Rick Barnes made a foundation off of Grant Williams and Admiral. Neither had offers from elite programs...good coaching can overcome recruiting rankings/evaluations.

I am with you Majors. I wish they could take both of them. I haven’t seen Ace play but I hear she is a great player. As I said before, I only seen Weathers play 3 times and that was at the glass house when she was a freshman. I can tell you that 2 coaches on the mens MTSU staff said to me that she was the best player in the tournament in all classes 1-3.
Weathers beat Tess’s team in the semi and so that is saying something. Again I am only pointing out that the girl has offers from teams that are ranked higher than us (top 15 teams).
She has played against one of our 2021 signees this year (1A TN vs 7A AL) and was the best player on the floor that night as well. Hopefully CKH finds a way to to get Ace & Weathers.

No we have fans that want us to sign only Tn kids and it don’t matter if they can play at this level or not.

I mean .... i don’t know how good these girls are i haven’t seen them but if we are in on some national kids i don’t know if we can offer everybody with the numbers. i guess with the misses we have had in the past it makes people want to take the “sure thing” which makes me think how do they know these instate kids are a sure thing?

I'm sure there are those out there. I'm on the side that if a TN kid/local kid has the same numbers, attributes, fits the style, mold of Tennessee then you take the kid. Majority of the good players out of Tennessee are a dime a dozen, D2 or smaller D1. But when you have a Top 1%-5% make sure you're in the conversation with them. Once you get on campus the rankings don't matter, as we've seen that first hand at Tennessee.

Carson and Jammer (Cameron) always want the best for her, whether it be here or not.

Carson use to go to all of her games when she was younger. Not sure now, haven’t talked to them in some while.

Yup, all athletes. Ace is the most athletic among them. Ask them yourselves they will say the same.

Last thing I’ll say. I haven’t watched her at all lately, or even a long while but I remember when she was like 8-9 watching her play. I was with Carson and thought she was going to be better athlete than her brothers, which is saying something.

PG, not sure who you are referring to. I want us to get the TN kids that are wanted by teams that have beat us, that are ranked higher than us, and frankly are better than us.

You tell us why we don’t want TN kids that Kentucky, Indiana, WVU and others want. Please don’t say it’s because we might get a top 5 recruit because until we prove we are back that is not happening.

Let me ask you this... What would our record be if Jumper was coaching the LVs right now or just tip it off with no coach at all. I say it would be 3-1. No offense to Jumper.

I don’t think so. Ace definitely has more guard skills. Justine can guard more post type players. Also it never seems to hurt uconn to have 5 girls that kinda play everthing in different ways ie. Megan Walker, Aubrey Griffin, Napheesa Collier, Katie Lou, Makurat... all guard forward types

Can a coach refuse to give a player an extra year? I could see younger players transfer if the roster gets too large.

Yes, it'll be advised to the player to look elsewhere for different reasons. Sports like football they may opt to keep more players for numbers. Smaller sport like basketball with a 8-12 person rotation it may be hard to keep players happy if you're number 13+

Scholarships are year to year. Unique circumstances right now.

Can’t confirm because I haven’t heard it directly, but it seems as though UT has backed off from Karly. Not sure why. One of the best players in the state in any class. Leader on and off the court. Straight A student. Played against great competition on the AAU circuit. Has proved herself on the court against players we’ve already signed or that we’re recruiting.
I’m sure KJH has her reasons if this proves to be true but it doesn’t make a lot of sense on paper and makes me wonder if we’re headed in the right direction.
