2022 Recruits

I see that Justine Pissott has a new Ranking in Hoopgurlz. She is now the number 16 ranked recruit in the class. It looks like some other top 20 talents in Ta"Niya Latson and Talaisha Cooper have been offered.

She was also listed as a 4 star ⭐️ but now a 5 star ⭐️! And still has a senior season to play !!!

She is now considered the second best player at her position which is awesome. Let's see who we can add to this class hopefully looking at a top ten finish. We've offered Latson, Cooper, Whitehorn, Smith, Bransford, Barker, and Buggs that I know of. Certain there are some more offers out there for 2022 players. Joyner is one we have offered that is not listed and Johnson has dropped to 55 also has an offer. I would be thrilled with any player I just mentioned.

who is #1 at that position?

So maybe Kellie does know how to recruit 5 star players.

UGHHHH you beat me to it! She recruited someone that did not go to high power high dollar recruiting events and now others are seeing what Kellie got! She got a kid on the rise and look a top 20 kid. I think this ranking will stay around here to 25. From reading things she is just fitting in to her teams and people want her to take over. So she is learning. She also is playing with people trying to get offers so she is playing the role she is asked.

Great kid! Great pick up and she jumped 17 spots! Maybe Kellie’s first All American... Now what will people complain about 😩

There will be some who will throw shade anyway. There are always a few who say great......but....

Unfortunately the same ones always complaining will find something negative to say. They probably would say this wasn't a Kellie recruit it was Lacey's and that she still isn't a Top 10 recruit. You know some folk on here are never satisfied.

Well, well, well......I've been saying Justine was going to rise up the rankings for over a year now...No way in hell a girl that tall, with that sweet of a stroke is not going to draw a lot of eyes attention...

I'll say it again, when she gets here, the Lady Vols are going to terrorize women's college basketball all over again....With Karoline, Sara, and Justine popping 3's from all over the court, the stunned opposition won't know what to do....

It's a shooting war baby....You either shoot, or you get shot!

Thanks for getting my recruiting anxiety going again .... Joyner now ranked at #67 ! We have several recruits we have offered or interested in that have moved since the last rankings!

#2 Barker still listed at 2
#12 Watkins up from 13
# 14 Bransford up from 27
# 16 Justine up from 33
#17 Latson up from 39
#18 Cooper down from 8
#19 Whitehorn down from 21
#24 Buggs up from 35
#30 Walker down from 20

This is eight more top recruits that we have a shot at ! And this is only what we know about ? After Justine verbal with no information until after her verbal ..... well , it’s getting interesting 🤔

Love it! The class of 2022 could take shape and give us a couple of really good recruiting classes in a row and we will still have some great upper-class players left. Can't wait to see what Horston and Key are able to bring this year as their roles expand!

I think Justine has an identical game in many ways to Catlin Clark. She has the same range on the three and recently has become much more efficient in taking it to the basket. Moves very well for her size she will be a perimeter player.

She and Clark are two totally different payers. Clark is primarily a SG and also plays PG, handling the ball as much as anybody on the floor. JP is a wing.

She can handle seen her play and she has played a lot of two guard. Creates off the dribble excellent assist player as well as shooter. Similar type shooter to Clark and can handle as well.

She reminds me a Suarez, but taller and better defense. Obviously she’s a great shooter too. Justine’s game reminds me of Suarez’s craftiness. IMO

June 1 will began the time for serious recruitment with the end of the long period of "non-envolvement". Also we should recognize that campus visits were not allowed last year. Justine has not made an "official" visit and it will be interesting how she is scheduled to be on campus with one or more other serious candidates. PHS back in the day brought in as many as four players in a weekend who were committed or close to signing. The next few months will be interesting for us to observe.

Here’s a link to the Omni Elite Classic showcase, which featured Justine among a slew of other top recruits in the 2021-23 classes (you have to click “watch on Facebook”)

Justine has some major work to do on the defensive end, particularly in one-on-one (and I understand this was a showcase game so help defense is at a minimum), but she displayed a nice offensive skill set.

Lots to be excited about with her unique size and skill set.

Number 4 on the white team looks like a pretty good point guard from the snippets I watched.

The part of Justine's game that surprised me was her passing. She had some nice assists. You get those two on the same team and I think you would really have something to work with.

There were a couple of other good guards there (14 on the white team and another one I forget), and 20 on the black team looked like she could be a pretty good forward. I didn't see any centers who stood out. But like I say, I did not watch the whole thing.

It would be nice to have a lineup though so I could tell who some of these girls are. I am really curious.
