As of Dec. 1, 2024, Gundy would be owed $25,359,375 if he were to be fired, according to his contract obtained by the USA TODAY Network.

Would OSU pony up?

The one good thing, he's not getting it all at once. Oklahoma State would pay Gundy in monthly installments until Dec. 31, 2028, if he was to be fired.

Ryan Day?

Yeah this one is interesting. Suckeye fans want him gone bit how do you fire a guy who just got you to the playoffs?

Plus there's no logical successor and not really any big name homerun hire names out there-unless they bring back Urban. Seems like he already burned some of his bridges in Columbus.

Ryan Day shoulda have left town with Justin Fields to the Chicago Bears job when it was his to lose.....

Ryan Day is turning into a slightly better James Franklin

Might as well consolidate everything into one thread.

For some reason, this seems like it may be one of the more calm off seasons

Here are the ones I know about/remember having already taken place-

UNC moves on from Mack Brown
FAU let's Tom Hermann go
Jim McElwain stepping down at Central Michigan
I remember when Herman was the next big thing

Greg Schiano is available.

Yup.

Not really sure what happened to him. I expected he would step down a level at FAU and then re-emerge as a P4 candidate in a few years.

The people I know in Austin hated him-basically a more talented Dooley in terms of arrogance per them.

Reading the Suckeyes message board, the fans are wanting former Titans coach, Mike Vrabel. Could see it as an interesting hire that might work out for them in the short run.

Vrabel needs to wait out this offseason for NFL gigs. I keep waiting for Haslam to shoot himself in the foot like always and can Stefanski and promote Vrabel

Vrabel is a conservative and I just don't know if he has a place in the modern NFL. And the Haslams are the TN version of the TX Addams.

Same as Chip Kelly. Getting the hell out of dodge. Also with all the realignment, these smaller schools are gonna wilt away.

The Mahlzan move is a head scratcher. Was he trying to get ahead of being fired?
Nearly 60 years old. Probably doesn’t want to have to put up with everything that goes along with being a HC these days. Plus, he would have been on the hot seat to start next year. So he probably saw the writing on the wall and decided to leave on his own terms.
