Doesn’t matter. Committee is looking for any excuse to put Arizona as the 1. Just ask Lunardi who is a mouth piece for the Committee on things like that. We had to be even with them in the loss column. We aren’t. So they’ll get it.

Lunardi has zero influence on the committee.

Then the committee isn’t doing their jobs right.

If they happen to put Arizona over us for a 1 seed, it just means we were never going to get it to begin with.

Seems inevitable that we dropped to a 2. Shouldn't happen after that game but probably will. Hopefully the team will do what they normally do and play well for a few games while they feel slighted. It's when everyone starts gushing about them that they take a step back. Happens every time.

Eh. Disagree. I think we could have forced their hand. They would have had no choice to put us on the 1 line if we won. Now they have a choice and talking points to support it when they are asked why.

I don’t think anyone is arguing he has influence on the committee. Just that it seems like he gets good info regarding the top teams each year so that the committee can have someone popular preemptively justifying their controversial seeding decisions at the top

It’s not over. AZ losing is the easiest path. Barring that, I think we’re 40/60 now to get it even with them winning. Our resume is very strong. If we won the tournament, it would add pressure, but we’ve all learned the hard way that conference tournaments rarely make the difference.

Exactly. Over the past few years, he has turned into an insider for the committee just like the ESPN was for the CFP this year. I truly believe that. I doubt Lunardi cares if it is Tennessee, Arizona or UNC, he only cares about getting it right. If he has good info, he is going to go with it. Of course, everything is evolving at this time of the year.

The NCAA powers that be needs a western power to promote as the one seed out west. We just opened the door for them. I suspect we are getting a two seed unless Arizona gets upset tonight.

USC has lost seventeen games and hasn’t beaten a ranked team this year. While it’s not impossible, hoping they’ll win is a real longshot.
