Kind of strange that she decided between us and Clemson when she hasn’t been on campus in over a year and I heard she was dodging calls. Heard the AAU coach was pushing hard for Clemson too. She’s good, but she ain’t good enough to get Clemson out of the bottom of the ACC. Maybe she’ll be a Cooper and come home after a season

That's the better question chuckiepoo and what's in it for the aau coach to advise Berry to only take one visit. It's also the aau coach doing interviews on Berry's recruiting process, not Berry or her parents. Just an observation there

Used to you could take limited visits ! And now you can take more I believe? And this kid takes ONE OFFICIAL VISIT ! I mean it’s a free weekend and meals on the school ? I’d go just for eating a few free meals …. Just saying 🤷‍♂️

The whole recruiting process here seems very off. For her coach to say she considered us is not even true.

Very strange process. Somethings not right about this. But the good news is Berry won't be anywhere she can hurt us, or much of anyone else.

I’d bet her AAU coach’s bank account is looking fatter today than it was Friday. Sorry, but why else would a coach ride that hard for a program going nowhere?

Not everything is suspect in recruiting. Clemson ath. department as a whole is a draw, and selling a kid on being the one to transform the WBB is enough along with a nice NIL.

Whatever. A top 10 WBB player mires herself in hopeless obscurity bc the football team is good? Also, I get the 'I Alone Can Save' mentality, but the save is not usually THIS hard. But I stand by the most important point, Berry is buried for the time being and will do zero harm to us. Until she hits the portal.

Don’t disagree on the “zero harm”. Reality is not every player lost that Tennessee somehow made into the finals is because of something suspicious. Maybe she hits the portal, that seems to be this staffs best recruiting tool.

And it’s not just their football team, baseball and softball are solid too.

LOL bc so many WBB recruiting decisions are made that way. It's wonder UConn ever gets a player!

When I say suspicious in this case, I just mean strange and out of whack. Because really, is anything "dirty" or even illegal in this day and age? If Clemson can come up with enough NIL $$$ than who the heck are we who rejoice in Rickea's return to say anything?

Boomer Me wants to think it's a lowkey kid who didn't want her recruitment to be a self-promoting circus of pompous tweets and countdowns and simply chose the school she loved most. In spite of sentencing herself to more losses in the first month of league play than she's probably had in her entire career. Hopefully she consulted Chennedy Carter and Janiah Barker about that experience.

2023 Me thinks the apparent overinvolvement of the AAU Coach (future Clemson assistant?) is troubling. I hope the Clemson decision was entirely in the best interest of the player. 2024 Me rubs hands together for portal.

Except Clemson isn’t coming up with nearly the NIL $$ she could have gotten at a lot of other schools. They’re just not doing it.
I try not to project anything into these decisions and don’t worry about why or how. It’s not my decision to make.

A bit of a head scratcher for sure. Hope she is happy, such a talent; wish her well!
