They need to sign one that visits,,,that IS their next step as an organization,,,they have to close on one on campus....don't let em get away if we really want them
I agree with that. Being de silva came from.spain though, I bet whoever is with her is really wanting her to take her visits. It's not easy to get back for other visits considering she's international.

We already have K Boyd committed, so we don't need Berry, imvho.

I’ll second that.
Kaniya Boyd is an absolutely steal for the 2024 class. She is without a doubt a 5 star prospect although she’s right now ranked as a high 4 star prospect (3 spots from a 5 star ranking).
With K. Boyd and T.Coop coming in 2024 Tennessee doesn’t have a glaring need in the guard spot. If either Wells or Spear (possibly both) return for an extra year then this instantly becomes a position of strength.
I will go as far as to say Boyd’s athleticism will earn her minutes Day 1.
She is in my opinion the best defensive guard in the country with elite length and quickness.
Reminds me of Battle at the University of Georgia. T.Coop is as good or better than any top 20 guard in either the 2022-2024 classes. She would’ve played big minutes for ANY other team that didn’t have 5 players selected in the WNBA draft which included 3-4 elite combo guards as seniors.
T.Coop would’ve been what the freshman guard at LSU was to her team on nearly every other team not named South Carolina.
I do think Tennessee will add another good player in the guard position in the 2024 class.
Right now, these two give us SEC caliber athletes that can flat out defend, dribble, run, pass, and get to the basket.
Tennessee with this kind of athleticism is about to take it up a notch starting this season with Wells and Spear at the guard position.

I wish some other fans could see this. Many, not all, focus on who we didn't get rather than who we did. Boyd is the real deal as you said and we have exceptionally talented guards.

she didn't want us,,,we don't want someone who doesn't want us
get it through your thick skull
100% agree.

We gotta as a fan base stop worrying about the kids that want to be here. I also think there is a double standard for Kellie. I'm not saying she's perfect, but how many top men's players in the state don't go to UT? Most of them! I don't hear Rick being berated like Kellie receives. Yes, I read the men's boars too and also have season tix to men.

Not one iota about how Clara da Silva's visit went .
I don't think we are gonna go and post about a visit and how it went to give others schools insight. Clara rarely posts at all. Go to her instagram. She's quiet. If you follow lady vols hoops on insta, some glimpses were shared and you could see the activities done while Clara was here

History has also said Ricks rosters has been filled by Tennessee kids. Many fan favorites…like any program he will lose a Brandon Miller type kid. But he’s definitely built the equity of evaluating, offering and receiving TN kids early and often.

It would be great to know her thought process since the other teams mentioned other than Tennessee have a load of post players either on their roster or committed out of high school. If she is seeing that then Tennessee is a no brainer as she will be the only post we have in the 2024 class and the ones on the roster close to their eligiblity remaining.

What happens with our negative people is that when Kellie starts recruiting five star players and getting same out of the portal then the argument is that they are not Tennessee kids. I guess you can always argue something whether it makes any sense of not.
I say that will be happy with recruiting but if the product on floor doesn't match the talent level then it will be Kellie can recruit but her coaching ability lacks.... Jmo.

I know. With a good portion of our fan base, she can never do anything right. Again not saying she's perfect, but she's also provided stability, brought in great kids and minus key injuries last year and the year prior, we were likely elite 8. This year's roster is her most complete, and I'm excited to see what they do.

Probably hasn't happened yet. She might have some time now that international play is over. She's big and dominates her age group but is reported to be very slow and hasn't really developed a reliable shot.

It seems that the perception from social media and the message board(s) aren’t exactly accurate as to how Coach Harper and the staff is viewed in Knoxville and other places.
The fans, parents, and players have a lot of respect for Coach Harper as a person and coach. The recruits in high school and college respect her as well. I think what has happened is these people running the ship a certain way has stepped on some toes.
Nobody can justify to me how in this year of 2023 that the recruiting has not been effective.
Signing Jewel Spear, Destinee Wells, Avery Strickland, and Talaysia Cooper was huge. Having the culture to convince Rickea Jackson and Tamari Key to return was huge.
Kaniya Boyd was an early 2024 commitment.
I’m 100% sure these weren’t the only players that had interest in signing with Tennessee and all of them certainly had many other options.
At some point, people need to acknowledge it’s a dead end and nothing will ever come of constantly focusing on a proclaimed recruiting debacle when this staff has signed the players they have the past two seasons.

thats the thing...once they play here, they become Tennesseans by default
So to me, one full year after they come here, they are in line to be considered VFL...from here on not!
