Also know that once a school learns what you are doing and esp in the NIl world, they will pay you in NIL money. Don't think some kids weren't coming in here until crazy promises were made to them last minute to sweet them away. People don't have to believe any of my insight here, but know that receuiting in the women's basketball world has become something we've never wanted to see for many top tier athletes. One thing UT isn't going to do is make empty promises just to get in a recruit. There are many reason why so many go into the portal. And one of those is making empty promises. It's also not zero like so many keep saying.

Just for reference Justine was a 2022 signee right ? she may have transferred but she signed for the 22 class. That's in that two year window so yes we have signed in the past two years. Maybe not the amount or level we wanted but you are correct it's not zero

But we know at best the signees weren't zero either Justine signed with the 22' class. which means she signed in the last two years. I'm not saying i don't wish we had signed more but also saying zero signees in two years is also totally wrong.

LSU won a natty by paying a crapload of money for a proven championship coach, one smart enough to game the new portal system to deliver a return on their investment in her SECOND season.

Not the one you asked, but for me, I don’t set expectations for my team. Every win is a success, and any loss is a disappointment.

Why should I change your mind ? That is your opinion and mine is that high school recruiting is more important than the portal; and, the portal is also important ;but you can not rely exclusively on the Portal .

I consider them equal and think you should have equal amount of players from both the portal and high school. I would be fine with a class of two high school players and two portal players with at least two years of eligibility remaining. With the portal players you are getting all the eligibility they have left unless they want to sit out a season. With high school players you are always subject to them transferring from their first season onward. On our current team we have six high school players and six transfers. That is the right mix, but it all comes down to the quality of the player not where they came from.

What would you consider a successful year for the Lady Vols, and what would be a disappointment ?

I think we should be a top three team and could finish in any of the top three spots a lot depending on how this team can rebound the ball. I am quite confident in their ability to score. You have to look at who got the best schedule draw to really determine your situation. Were playing LSU once and SC twice and have road games at Ole Miss and Miss St. You come out of that 3 and 2 then you certainly should finish top three and almost certainly be right there for the SEC title.
