Think it was going to be UCLA may still be them. It was posted she was going there then it was taken down. With all the post players they have and coming in think it would be a bad choice for her. Evidently no one sees the opportunity at Tennessee or just don't care and didn't like the school enough to take advantage of the huge opportunity that exists in the post. She is one of our last high school options for a post and she is certainly an exceptional player. Beyond her we'll again be searching in the portal cause were going to need someone or play all guards.Zania Socka-Nguemen
She's a 6'3" forward that ESPN ranked #26 in the 2024 class.
Don't remember her visiting.
I hate that she’ll waste this opportunity just to play with her former high school teammates. UCLA has 5 or 6 players 6’4 and bigger with multiple years of eligibility and she’s too talented to have to ride the bench for a couple years waiting for her turnThink it was going to be UCLA may still be them. It was leaked earlier this week for a minute on social media and was taken down asap. It was leaked it was UCLA which makes sense. She'd be following her HS teammates. She just won't have a clear path to playing time there.Think it was going to be UCLA may still be them. It was posted she was going there then it was taken down. I am at the point where I don't know if they are looking heavy for a post. It seems they are looking for an all guard/forward team and going to play run and gun. I am not sure that will work in the SECI don't think the Lady Vols expect this commitment. I believe she is heading to the west coast to join her high school teammates.
There aren't many posts in this class that are highly rated. Go look at the top 100. Basketball has evolved so much that you don't see a ton of traditional bigs now. I think they know you can get a proven kid in the portal with 2-3 years of eligibility. Long gone are the days of loading up with hs recruits.I am at the point where I don't know if they are looking heavy for a post. Heckel and Blakes give us a really good class and were set on the perimeter for years to come. Not sure were going to get either one of them, but all that we have left. We have to be looking portal, JC and foreign for post players at the end of the season.Good point.
I mean, just for once, could we be the bride? Seems like the odds would catch us for us if nothing else. So often so close, but yet, empty. Maybe one of these will be the one . . .
Don't forget Talaysia Cooper! She won't be eligible to play until next year, but she is for sure the real deal!!You made some valid points.
Tennessee has dominated the portal. Absolutely dominated it for proven Power 5 SEC talent and elite frontcourt players.
Alexus Dye a dbl-dbl machine, the LVs best rebounder in the past 3 years, and starting PF (All-SEC tourney selection) in one year.
Jillian Hollingshead former McD All-American and USA 3x3 U21 selection.
Rickea Jackson AmeriCup tourney team, All-SEC selection, preseason All-American selection, projected lottery pick.
Keyen Green elite rebounder, high motor SEC talent who played multiple seasons before a season ending injury.
Due to injury, elite athlete Jazmine Franklin was still recovering while trying to transition to another program.
I have absolute confidence in this staff finding another elite post player via the portal if necessary. The track record is outstanding overall. This offseason there was not a need for a post addition. #4 elite guard Jewel Spear and #15 elite guard Destinee Wells spearheaded this year’s Top 10 portal recruiting class.
