After what we lost, and to keep things in balance, I prefer another top notch defender to another shooter. That is if we do land the other three guys I mentioned. Jmo
ZZ (NY)Yeah no doubt! Roddy is a dog like Zeigler + Mashack + Awaka. He would be a great fit!!! And athletic as get out, would be fun seeing ZZ to Roddy in transition. With us getting a veteran stretch big and Darlinstone Dubar that gives us two more reliable outside shooters... And I know people doesn't think Jahmai Mashack can shoot the three, but he can and he will keep the defenders attention with his capability. I see Carr + Estrella off the bench maybe 12-15 mins each in rotation & both able to shoot the 3 with ease. And obviously Zeigler + Gainey can shoot it... Why not take Roddy... Plus he has 2 years of eligibility... We could need him in my opinion.
But in no way would we get both Lanier + Roddy... Lanier is obviously taking his time with NBA workouts and taking it seriously, as someone already said we don't want to wait too long and miss out on everyone, what is Lanier stays in the NBA draft and doesn't return ... We need a good SG in the portal - do this is a great move... And he had several 25+ points games against good competition. It's z take if I've ever seen one

I challenge a random Miya lol . 1st of all 5th best as a sophomore.... Coach played Roddy 30.9 minutes a game - as a Sophomore which was 3rd most on the team barely behind 1st + 2nd. The 4th leader in minutes was 8 minutes a game behind Roddy... So what Evan Miya says means nothing to me...
Haha Relax.. I’m just providing information that I thought was notable. Evan Miya has a well respected player rating system. Maybe he’s off. His ranking of Knecht was ridiculously underrated.

While playing time is certainly a consideration, money is a big part of the picture...and for some, the main issue. I'd be shocked if the majority of players in the portal who are being courted by several programs would commit and shut things down on their first visit. Suspect the majority will set up and take several visits. Think I recall reading that schools won't give you a number until you actually visit. Smart IMO. I'd get my offers then add it to the list of other things I'm looking for and make my decision. While not getting a commit this weekend isn't ideal, I'm not sure it's a sign we won't get the guy...or any other player who doesn't jump into the boat on their visit to UT.
