The compilation also includes important info from BTO, and some others here perhaps. It is a really good summary of the best posts on this board on this subject.lol, this is almost exactly what SF posted over the weekend. And people wonder why we say Basilio’s “source” is VN.
Some people don't understand that everything that is said is not everything that is.You are naive if you think they don’t have a backup plan. This is Rick Barnes we’re are talking about. He always has a plan. It’s been stated they have their eye on other players in addition to Lanier, the names just haven’t been made publicly available.
Unless I am miscounting, I count 6 returning players (Ziegler, Gainey, Mashack, Estrella, Carr and Phillips), 1 incoming freshman (Boswell) and 3 transfers (Dubar, Okpara and Milicic - all signed).I would wager a pretty large sum we won’t be at 10 scholarship players when the season starts.
Not every number not equal to 10 is less than 10.Unless I am miscounting, I count 6 returning players (Ziegler, Gainey, Mashack, Estrella, Carr and Phillips), 1 incoming freshman (Boswell) and 3 transfers (Dubar, Okpara and Milicic - all signed).
That's ten.
Not only will we lose on Lanier, all contingencies and add no one, but also lose a player expected to return?
Which player do you not see coming / coming back?
I think he meant we will get more than 10 lolUnless I am miscounting, I count 6 returning players (Ziegler, Gainey, Mashack, Estrella, Carr and Phillips), 1 incoming freshman (Boswell) and 3 transfers (Dubar, Okpara and Milicic - all signed).

Cool. I need to find his number. He is down to earth and I enjoyed hanging out with him on the court when my son played. I think I last saw him in Nashville when TN beat State at the SEC tourney. It’s been a minute though, about 10 -12 yrsNo not personally. Strictly been a social media connection he was following my Tennessee basketball page and Lanier's father. I was excited to know that he knew the Lanier's. He was part of my favorite NBA draft with the 1996 class. He was a great player, don't know his story.
I love Rick Barnes, but he doesn't always have a plan. Yuri Collins. I still wouldn't trade CRB for anyone, but no one is infallible, not even Coach Barnes. We made promises that we kept, Lanier made promises he didn't keep. The transfer portal/NCAA mess was beyond his control, but hiring an agent and shopping himself was not. Hopefully it works out for us, but keeping our word and not recruiting anyone else at his position could come back to bite us in the ass. Personally, I feel like once he broke his word, we were no longer obliged to honor ours. But CRB is a better man than I.You are naive if you think they don’t have a backup plan. I think we had backup plans for Collins iirc. We just whiffed on all of those too.I love Rick Barnes, but he doesn't always have a plan. Yuri Collins. Goodness gracious, this is a "well, bless your heart" post if I ever saw one.I love Rick Barnes, but he doesn't always have a plan. Yuri Collins. Yeah the guy that has five 25-win seasons out of the past 7 years doesn’t always have a plan. Yeah, okI love Rick Barnes, but he doesn't always have a plan. Yuri Collins. Interesting...just as I was warming up to the idea of stashing him on the end of our bench. He committed to UNC-Wilmington.
I wonder how soon Lanier will let UT know that he theoretically wouldn't visit if he does not want to visit, given the UK and UT visits are practically back-to-back. Just seems unlikely and honestly would be weird if he made up his mind that quickly after the UK visit.Lanier UK visit is today. If he makes it out of that visit without committing, and gets to campus I give us the edge. I think we get him if he makes it, and it seems like the same situation as it was with Tyson and UNC with us being the home state school. Just gotta see if that money is too much to overcome or not.
Join me on the not realistic Kevin Patton trainInteresting...just as I was warming up to the idea of stashing him on the end of our bench.
In the end, it seems like he ended up at about the level I suspected he should be at in the first place. Oh well...maybe he develops and we grab him in the portal at some point.
