l keep reading posts about Lanier's 'agents'. Thought it was an NCAA violation have an agent while still college eligible? Things changed??

RE Lanier's shooting technique, the main issue is that his release point is very low. Definitely not the best technique. It's more an old-fashioned set shot than a jump shot. He doesn't really jump much as he's shooting. A good jump shot is releasing the ball at level higher than
your head. He's releasing the ball about about his shoulder level, if that. You can't get off a shot when guarded fairly closely with a low
release point--but it won't be a problem if he's open and the shot is uncontested.

Someone should tell Steph Curry his release point is too low. And it is a absolutely nowhere near a set shot. He loads at his waist and once he starts his shot the ball never stops moving. Literally the exact opposite of a set shot.

Yes, having an agent while in college is legal now.

Anybody ever watch Jamal Wilkes shot the ball years ago. Jamal was a great shooter doesn't matter about form as long as the ball goes thru the net.

Trilly should just post thoughts and on the ground reporting. These percentages are silly. It was 53/47 vols/uk, then vols in last percentage wise with BYU second, now vols at 35%.

The amount of time his shot takes to get off has worried me, as well as the fact he still isn’t a great creator for others as far as I can tell, but I made too much of a fool of myself last offseason by poo-pooing the hype around Knecht so I’ve stayed out of the conversation for the most part

Haha...at least you're honest and own it.

I think Knecht was quite a bit more projectable even though I don't know that anyone foresaw what he ended up doing, necessarily, but it wasn't a stretch to think he could be our leading scorer just because of his length, shooting, and ability to score from anywhere. Chaz has a lot of those same abilities, just to a lesser degree, IMO. I think he can still be an impact guy, but I just won't be quite as surprised if he ends up being a modest 10 ppg game guy, either. I think there will be more balance and fewer opportunities to take over like DK did, which is a good thing, probably.

Trilly doesn’t have a feel for this one IMO. Hes just throwing crap against the wall and seeing if it sticks. I think Lanier ultimately chooses us because of Barnes proven track record and a solid NIL offer. While Kentucky’s may be higher i don’t think it’s in the stratosphere of 1.7 million like everyone was saying. I think the difference in money may be a lot closer than anyone might suspect, and I think the appeal of playing for a more proven coach in his home state will win out in the end.

It’s almost like recruiting is fluid and frequently changes.
