Someone sell me on Tyson..keep in mind my issue is that against teams like Drake (which are upper mid majors) and of course AZ hr didnt perform well amd shot under 40% with 0 3pts made...how does that translate to SEC...seems more like a short Pember type to me
Tyson and Lanier both basically 50/40/90 guys on pretty good volume. Thomas is also much more efficient than I thought at 30% usage, and you’d think the 3P ceiling is higher than the current 33% as an almost 90% FT shooter.
Adding a couple of those would add so much balance to the offense.
Appreciate your breakdown...now would you say the conference he plays in would be comparable to the SEC??? I brought up Drake and AZ because they are the better team on his schedule..even against Indiana state he only had 1 decent game...so when your battling top 15 teams every game, has he shown he can play at that level...I dont see it....even Gainey put up better numbers against Power ,5 teamsIn 41 of his 61 games playing he's shot 33% or better from 3PT.
In 48 of his 61 games playing he's shot 40% or better from 2PT.
He's only shot under 30% from FG in 7 games for his career
He has scored at least 10 points in 50 of his 61 games
His 183 rebounds on the year would have been 3rd best on the Vols
His 503 points on the year would have been 2nd best on the Vols
His 49.3% FG would have put him 3rd best on the team behind only Awaka and Aidoo
His 357 FGAs though would have been 2nd best on the team behind only DK
His 176 FG makes would have been 2nd best on the team behind only DK
He hit 80 3s just 13 less than DK, which would have put him 2nd best on the team
His 46.5% from deep would have lead the team
Only Gainey shot a higher % from the FT line than Tyson
He is actually a better deep ball shooter than DK with a bit more size. The biggest question is how athletic/explosive is he and can he pickup and play defense at a high enough level to play good minutes here.
I personally am starting to like the small ball lineup ofI think Lanier is a take without question... then you have a few choices to make. Dubar, Thomas or Tyson...if by some miracle all 3 want to come here I still think we'd only take 2 of them.
Not saying Lanier is better than the others, but his skillset and position is a different role that I'm not sure those other 3 can fill.
Now if you can get the 3 big wings then maybe the role Lanier would fill will default to Gainey, Carr, or Mashack...which could be pretty nice if that means you have 2 spots on the floor for Dubar/Thomas/Tyson to play.
Just need to start landing some guys so we can speculate lineups lol
Cause right now I'm going full @TrippieRedd HARD for this lineup

Is that the team right now? 5 open spots? Really wish we would've gotten more than 1 HS guy this cycle.
