Yes, we will be fine next year, but I would have still rather have kept him and let him start at the 4. Even at 20 minutes per game Tobe could give you 8+ pts / 8+ boards per game. Just hate seeing a very good college player who is visibly developing and already contributing to the team leave the program. Tobe is a guy that could continue to reinforce the culture that Barnes has built. We very well may be very good again next year, but if you incrementally lose your culture in any organization (team, business, etc..), it eventually falls apart.Only if he figures out how to stay on the floor. Wish him well, but we'll be fine.
And I think that happens. I think we will add 3 guys from the portal and by summer it will be clear who will see more minutes, and someone is gonna go, as Ledlum did, and he made the right call.Sounds like coaches asked players to make a decision by today at 5pm (deadline now past) as a courtesy, but there’s nothing stopping them from bailing up until the portal closes on May 1.
Tremendous passing big. Can shoot 3 maybe he is our stretch 4.THE LEGEND IS IN THE PORTAL

I feel good that the deadline came and went. It’s not bulletproof, but it’s a step. I still think people are in Aidoo’s ear and Mashack’s ear. Hopefully they’ll stay at this point.
And how many times did Tobe foul out in 35 games this year? 3x and two of those were against Edey, the player of the year who benefited from a whistle. Did Tobe foul too much. Yes, but statistically over 35 games, he averaged 2.5 fouls over 13.1 minutes per game so your statement is false. Frankly we may not get out of the 2nd round against Texas if he didn't provide a lift off the bench with his scoring and rebounding. 59% FG percentage which was far better than anyone else on the team and a FT% which improved dramatically in a year to 74.2% which was better than our starting PG and far better than our starting Center. Anyone who fails to see the contributions he gave to the team these past 2 years and doesn't see his potential as a college player is woefully ignorant. Other programs see it which is why they are offering him attractive NIL money to leave UT.His 13 minutes before fouling out will be massive for his next program
