Mashack has a ton of versatility, he can play 1-4, and in certain matchups even a 5. If he can take another step offensively he will be hard to keep off the floor regardless of position or who we add.
I mean you can disagree, but facts are, he played the 4 all season…probably more than any other position. He guarded the 4 tremendously, including shutting down Brandon Miller last year. It’s not an opinion that Mashack plays 1-4….he simply does. And does it well. This is where we will have to disagree. We will see. If Mashack is a regular 4 without a good jump shot then it's a downside because he will play against 6'8 and 6'9 guys for long periods of time.

Not to wear the point out, but he shoots 45/36 and has played the 4 when the matchups call for it. Obviously Barnes plays the 4 often as a defensive call in small ball, but Mashack proved that he can drive if they cover him out, or shoot if they pack it in. I assume he’ll continue to play mostly 2-4.This is where we will have to disagree. We will see. I think if you watched all our games this year you’d realize a 6’6” 4 is much more normal than a 6’9” 4This is where we will have to disagree. We will see. If Mashack is a regular 4 without a good jump shot then it's a downside because he will play against 6'8 and 6'9 guys for long periods of time.
He played at Iowa State, 14.4 minutes per game as well in 16 games, started 7 so I wouldn’t worry about the transition as much.A 6'8" 200lbs wing player who can score at all 3 levels... would be a huge domino!
I mean obviously it's not a direct translation being Hofstra and the CAA isn't the same as playing here in the SEC, but I think it's promising that his Defensive Rating the last 2 seasons has been around 100.

Check out his numbers against P5, definitely gives reason to be more optimistic about what he can do here…A 6'8" 200lbs wing player who can score at all 3 levels... would be a huge domino!

I’ve heard for a few weeks that we’ll have 3+ visitors this week, but have not heard a single name. BTO shared Dubar, but I still think there are more coming. I don’t know if they are playing this close to the vest, due to the environment, but typically they’d leak it to journalists midweek.
