Sides was between a rock and a hard place. As a professional coach, she just couldn't let a rookie come in and take control of the team. Not only would it look bad from a coaches standpoint, but the other players would have gone nuts. I think Sides knew CC had the potential, but what guarantee would she have that CC's game would work almost immediately. Not only did she have to navigate the fans reactions, but also the rest of the team. I think she finally figured it out, the team figured it out, but the fans did not. I think the firing was to massage the fans interest, and not because she did a poor job.
