2024 WNBA Discussion Thread

Gosh, now that I've had a few minutes to think, I'm feeling sad. Rickea can't catch a dang break.

There's always a chance her luck could change, though, so we'll just have to wait and see what their final roster situation is after all the dust settles.

The worst place she could go, I'm really pissed. I was looking forward to seeing her next year alongside Cameron and Rickea. They would have been the best young core in the league, with a real chance of going far in the playoffs.
At least it shows the lottery wasn't rigged. The league would definitely have wanted the energy of CPR next yr, and not more Arike ball hogging drama. Big loss all the way around.

This is probably’s Arike last run in Dallas anyway. She's only signed through the 2025 season. Depending on how the season goes and how her and Paige mesh they may decide to part ways. One of the Cali teams might get her.

Take the ND Pg and ride. She's a player.

Definitely a possibility. I'll have to watch Miles closely this year, but I'm not sure she's an immediate impact PG which is what the Sparks desperately need.

Good chance they take Kiki, who's from LA.

Nice player, but wouldn't you be concerned about her history of chronic injury? Seems kinda risky to me, unfortunately. But then again, she's had no longerva history of chronic injury than Bueckers.

Hmmmm. Glv98, based on who you'd guess stands the best chance of staying healthy, who do you choose?

Could also be that trades are made that alters the draft order. How about a 3 team deal that lands Arike and Sabally in LA, and Rae, Rickea, Cameron, and Paige in Vegas, and Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young and Kiah Stokes in Dallas?

Again, if not Paige, it barely matters. She is probably the one worth the injury risk.

The Sparks not only needed Paige as a lead PG, but badly needed the energy of a #1 pick. Now they're once again locked in as beautiful losers.

Whether they take KiKi or the best available PG as a project probably depends on whether that Belgium PG is going to play for them next season and if they're going to retain Odyssey Sims.

Hell, they don't even have a freaking coach.

I don’t see how you keep Sedona Prince out of the top 10 if she stays healthy this season. No other player with a shot like that at 6’7”. She’s just had so many crazy injuries and I’m not sold on her post game.

But still, top 10 pick for sure.

Also think Janiah Barker and Amoore are too high here.

Based on what we’ve seen from Barker in her career she is potential only. Zero consistency and doesn’t seem that motivated.

Amoore just too little guards like that don’t do well in the league. A player like Van Lith will go ahead of her for sure.

Iv’e been watching her, she’s not an immediate impact player, but she’s the next best available Pg, and she’s pass first and a good floor general. But she does have flaws in her game like her shooting and finishing in the paint at the next level, also the mechanics in her shot needs to be fixed, for some reason they never fix it in college.

That's an idea. Perhaps try to get Gray back in LA? Or, go after Plum or Ionescu from the defending champs?
Sparks aren’t exactly a magnet for free agents. They don’t have their own facilities and Magic talks a big game but does nothing. They also don’t really have anything to trade, unless they wanted to heaven forbide trade one of their prize rookies.

I think y’all are right about Miles and Harmon. So I guess it’s Kiki.
