If he has been in the system this long and at UNC for 3yrs and only saw a handful of games started at 1st then I assume the defensive part is to much of a liability to knock someone off their perch here, let alone this early.

Hired guns are going to be a dime a dozen nowadays as well.

Here’s what I saw about Fischer.

Marcus Phillips is the biggest wildcard on this team and likely the entire SEC.
He has unbelievable talent but he lacks the experience of guys from better weather areas. He needs to trust his stuff and get out of his head.

Perhaps read up on the Roman Stoics.

It is clear that last season was the first season he focused on just pitching.

He could turn into a dominant arm and his presence on the mound could be very intimidating. I just hope the switch can be turned on.

Here’s the lineup and results from game 3 of Pizza Series. Apparently Curley and Kilen alternated all weekend between 2B and SS. Antigua played 3B on Friday and Manny Marin played 3B on Sat and Sun. Fischer only played defense on Sunday and was at 1B (did not bat all weekend as he’s been held out for an injury). Peebles only DH’ed all weekend due to a sore arm.

We do not know who the superstar may be we see some real depth.

The guys that don't get start will need to stay psychologically ready as they will get some very important pinch hit chances.

If we were to pick some guys who may be breakout stars:

(1) Jay Abernathy may absolutely terrorize subpar defenses and there will be lots of singles and walks that will become doubles- especially against right handed pitching.
(2) Cannon Peebles- He's simply too good at plate to have another slow start in spring.
(3) Chapman or Bargo

As a switch hitter, a consistent Peebles will allow the Vols to almost do what they did last season, alternate Left/Right in lineup.

Just remember someone will not perform like they did in the fall. I think there are a few suspects already. I've never understood how a player could rake in the fall and not hit in the spring but it happened the past 5 years. I'm almost to the point that I don't want our better guys to have a great fall hitting.

I would be curious to hear your possible suspects. At least the stats from the scrimmages are encouraging

I won't do that. If I was right, I would get crucified. The sad part is in the past it has been one of if not the best hitter in the fall.
