I think we are his last visit, not 100%What's the word on JJ Mandaquit? For some reason I think he could be someone we might look to land. I also think our Football roster and some of those players LOVING Knoxville might help with his recruitment...
Has an offer, but has he had a visit unofficial or official yet or something scheduled?
Anyone?
Chris Cenac is set to visit LSU this weekend. At this point, this is his final planned official visit. Sources close to the recruitment tell me that this LSU visit is the one that they are keeping an eye on. Cenac is from the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area and, I am told, it is a big deal for LSU head coach Matt McMahon to keep him in the state. Sources close to the recruitment tell me that LSU is prepared to roll out to red carpet to ultimately land Cenac’s commitment.
Two other programs I am consistently hearing in conjunction with Cenac’s recruitment are Tennessee and Houston. Since Cenac visited Knoxville, I am told that momentum has continued to grow around the Vols. Cenac also made a return (unofficial) visit to Houston for the Cougars exhibition scrimmage against Texas A&M last week.
As one source recently put it to me, they would say that Tennessee and LSU are in tier one and they would not count out Houston at this point. Cenac has not yet publicly stated a commitment date, and he has said that he will “probably” sign during the late period. However, a source close to the recruitment recently told me that Cenac and his family are “growing tired of the recruiting process,” and that it would not surprise them if Cenac commits to a school before the end of the early signing period. Another source recently told me that they feel if Cenac is comfortable with his decision, they think there is a high probability that he will sign early.
While Cenac took recent official visits to Auburn, Arkansas, and Kentucky, they are not schools I am hearing much about, at this point, when I talk with sources around the recruitment.
Continue to pay attention to this weekend’s LSU visit. After that, it is worth watching if/when a commitment date comes about. Be sure to continue reading On3 for all the latest recruiting intel and breaking news as it happens.
Home state school is tough but if LSU is super bad again this year maybe that gives him pause joining their coach.Well, sounds somewhat promising, but having to fend off the home state school will be tough. I guess it entirely depends on how much staying home actually means to Cenac. It’s no surprise LSU wants to roll out the red carpet. That’s PR talk. I’m sure we did the same thing.
But I guess it depends on whether he values going to a program that is in a better position right now (TN) or the home school.
If he signs early, it won't matter how bad they are, though. If he signs early, we need it to be with us. If he commits to LSU but chooses to wait until spring to sign, then their on-court play could factor into him perhaps changing his mind.Home state school is tough but if LSU is super bad again this year maybe that gives him pause joining their coach.
Added Calderon, has an offer and OV’d a couple weeks ago under the radar…

Anyone…
Thanks, kinda what I figured. Much of the eggs seem to be in the Cenac basket currently.Essentially it's very early in his recruitment and not likely to sign this fall. Duke and Virginia probably out. Two sleepers are notre dame and Louisville but he wants to watch them this season. He may schedule officials with Kansas and Arkansas and should be considered contenders if officials get scheduled.
Then basically says Vols, Texas, and Kansas state are all involved heavily and he's been to visit.
So really nothing concrete other than likely a spring recruit.
