2025 Transfer portal - players leaving the Vols

What system in the world is set up to lose people in the middle of the most important event of the year?
NIL is the primary driver, I think. Other factors are playing time and that some have been recruited over and are not going to play. Also, position coaches and coordinators leave. College football is becoming more and more like the NFL and it's no longer as much fun.

The players have to be enrolled in school by the start of the second semester to be able to participate in spring practice.
Some schools start the second week of January.
How do you fix that?

Looks like we need a sticky for this. Not sure if here or RF. Mods, whichever is best. Players, thanks for your time as a Vol!

What part of enrolling in school don’t people get?

Rumor is that Squirrel White may be gone. He has deleted everything from his Instagram that is associated with Tennessee and his Instagram story was the thinking man emoji. Strange to do if it doesn't have some traction to it.

I like squirrel, but he doesn’t have good enough numbers to be successful in the NFL or drafted high and is hurt all the time. So if he can make more money to play elsewhere for one year in NIL then he needs to do it.

Are they student athletes or professionals? This is the reason for confusion.
if they are indeed professionals, then let them pay tuition from their NIL deals. There just might be a kid who wants an education (who needs financial help) while playing a sport they love.
