big list but I feel like Jayson Jenkins, C Harrison are the only two majors we are losing. The rest had potential but not the on field #1 we need. biggest concern is we have like 1 portal signed so far. are we going to rely on the new class and young 2024 class?Looks like we need a sticky for this. Not sure if here or RF. Mods, whichever is best. Players, thanks for your time as a Vol!
12/26 Holden Staes -- TE
12/26 Gaston Moore -- QB
12/23. Jayson Jenkins -- DE
12/19. Christian Harrison -- S
12/14. Cam Seldon -- RB
12/12. Nate Spillman -- WR
12/12. Nathan Leacock -- WR
12/10 - Chas Nimrod -- WR
12/6 - Ryan Damron -- QB (yes, Ryan, VolNation noticed!)
12/6 - Jordan Matthews -- CB
12/6 - Jalen Smith -- LB
12/5 - Kalib Webb -- WR
12/4 - Khalifa Keith -- RB
12/3 - Vysen Lang -- IOL

Harrison I could see leaving with Thomas getting healthy and coming back. And hopefully Boo...ughbig list but I feel like Jayson Jenkins, C Harrison are the only two majors we are losing. All 3-stars except for Leacock. If our xfer-in list looks like this, folks will complain about the talent level. So, why should anyone gripe and moan about these losses?big list but I feel like Jayson Jenkins, C Harrison are the only two majors we are losing. Bc it seems like the roof is collapsing. If CJH restocks the pantry with better talent then it’ll pass. All 3-stars except for Leacock. If our xfer-in list looks like this, folks will complain about the talent level. So, why should anyone gripe and moan about these losses?
Without factual information about what players demand vs. what our collective can afford or Heupel’s priorities, we really can’t respond rationally to what we read or hear, so we respond based on emotion and frustration. In this new age of NIL/Transfer Portal, all we can do is grit our teeth and bear it.Bc it seems like the roof is collapsing. If CJH restocks the pantry with better talent then it’ll pass.
It also makes you second guess if it’s really the money or something else….we know it’s the money (allegedly) but still doubt and two decades of BVS working against the average fan. Me included
Seriously how many 4 and 5 stars do we have?? A couple maybe mostly 3 star if that unlike OSU with 13+ 5 star players we get so worked up over mediocrity like it's the best we can get but now with NIL which will ruin college football it only provides an even bigger advantage to big schools with history and money but Tenn either too cheap to drop 20+ million or just don't know how to spend it wisely I think cheap tbh it's sad a team with the best fan base in the nation which equals $ something is very wrong here the AD is a big problem I guess we will see how it plays out but how can a dumpster fire of a program in 3 years time do what we've done with half the everything compared to bama Georgia OSU...but still struggling for scraps hueple has performed a miracle but ***** still not adding upIn this age the portal is destroying the concept of experienced depth. We will have a redshirt or true freshman on 2 deep at a number of positions: QB, WR, maybe TE, across the offensive line, LB, Star, CB and potentially S. But happening to everyone so just have to coach up the young talent. Surprised at a few of the players who entered the portal but admittedly none of those guys are NFL caliber talent and all are replaceable. At least the ones we have lost to date. Seldon may be the closest one based on athletic ability alone but I'm not sure he is cut out to be a running back and tough to develop when you are often injured.
But I don't think we are loosing any starter except Squirrel are we? I think Squirrel was told he would not be playing as much Boo Carter wants to play offense, and I think that's what kept him with us. So the ones transferring were not playing much or little at all. I can't blame Gaston Moore, he wants to play and no chance here unless Nico gets hurt. We're losing a bunch of guys but if we replace them with upgrades that's one thing but if not next year will be a long season
How dare you say the word "RATIONAL" in these parts......lolWithout factual information about what players demand vs. what our collective can afford or Heupel’s priorities, we really can’t respond rationally to what we read or hear, so we respond based on emotion and frustration. That's the rub tho. Heupel recruited these guys to begin with for the most part. He had Hooker and went out and got Milton. He brought in Staes at TE. The list goes on. Know recruiting is a crap shoot and if you hit on 50% it's a success, but I'll continue to beat this dead horse. I have very little faith in Heupel's ability to evaluate talent outside of the DL and that's all Garner. One thing playing OSU did was show some just how far behind we are with this roster. I had hoped that our "scheme" would help us play above our level, but that hope was short lived and is now gone. Gimmick offenses never work for very long. A sharp coach somewhere will come up with a solution and everyone else will copy it. Good coaches will react and adjust. Time will tell if Heupel is one of those. After next season, I suspect the heat on Heupel will grow considerably...expecially if Nico leaves. That would be an extremely bad look for Heupel.Bc it seems like the roof is collapsing. I think Merklinger is ready to be #2 qb, so Gaston goes somewhere to play. I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes back to coach the next year. He’s tight w Coach H.But I don't think we are loosing any starter except Squirrel are we? Not a single one of these guys will have an impact on who makes the SEC Title game next year. Best of luck gents..Looks like we need a sticky for this. Not sure if here or RF. Mods, whichever is best. Players, thanks for your time as a Vol!

Seldon wasn’t going to be the #1 RB. Lewis and Bishop are both ahead of him.Seldon went into the portal?
He was to be our number #1 running back next year. I heard a lot of really high praise on him. This is definitely disheartening.
As disappointing as this is, I know we will get people from the portal to replace them and everything will be all right.
