'22 SC SF Julian Phillips (Tennessee commit)

My source still believes we lead. Phillips has not stopped communicating with our coaches at any point. He has spent time with FSU and us 10 to 1 over any other team. Our staff believes we solved his needs with NIL. Auburn made a pitch that Phillips, BHH, Traore would be a historic team, but I’m not sure how they answer who gets the minutes. Pearl and son, may be the best recruiting machine in the country right now, but I still believe we have a strong shot. I know I’m in the minority. I’m also relying on a single source, but it’s a good source. I would not count us out.

Does this “source” have any credibility? If he were so confident we’re getting him, why is he visiting other programs?

People said for a year that we were getting Caleb Herring yet he visited a ton of other programs and then what to do you know he committed to Tennessee last week. Maybe Phillips is just enjoying the process? Who is to say….

I’ve never seen a recruit this good at throwing people off. Everyone thought it was down to UT and FSU when he ended up picking LSU, and now everyone is grasping at straws again.

He’s a witch. Burn him. I have a friend who works with two of our coaches. He’s a fan and talks to them regularly. I don’t know if this kid will sign with us or not, but the coaches still feel like it has been an FSU/UT battle for months with us solving his needs with NIL. Auburn does crazy things at the last minute that get players. But if you’re case is he wouldn’t take visits after a commitment, he’s taking visits after Auburn.

He’s from South Carolina, essentially right outside Columbia, so easy trip and give the home school and new coach a chance, that makes sense. And yea, visit is scheduled for next, same as K State visit, so if those don’t happen that changes things up. Guessing he visits Auburn still and ends up there.c but that tweet definitely casts a little doubt…would also appear that he only has 1 remaining OV so can’t take both unless 1 is an unofficial.

He only has 1 OV left, assuming he’s using that to Auburn them he’s done, and decision coming shortly after I would think. Fwiw I got 2nd source tell me today the pick is Auburn, Tennessee not willing/wanting to get into a bidding war.

Spyre met what he asked for. If Auburn were to better that, I’d assume we’re out.
