$3 Trillion Infrastructure and Jobs Plan Coming

Manchin shatters Biden's hopes of passing his spending packages this week by saying he will NOT support the $1.75T before the infrastructure bill and until he 'knows the impact on inflation and the national debt'

Sen. Joe Manchin on Monday dashed President Biden's hope for a vote on his $1.75 trillion reconciliation package this week as he called on the House to vote for the bipartisan infrastructure bill on its own.

The West Virginia Democrat, whose centrist vote wields much power in the 50-50 Senate, put the breaks on the larger spending package, saying in a press conference he would not vote for it until he had 'greater clarity' on what its impact would be for inflation and the national debt.

An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist National poll released Monday showed 44 percent of left-leaning voters want to replace the president at the top of the ticket in 2024, 36 percent want to keep him there as his landmark legislative agenda hangs on by a thread.

Meanwhile, Manchin said that 'shell games' and 'budget gimmicks' could make the real cost of the $1.75T bill almost twice that amount.

'This is a recipe for economic crisis,' he added.

Pelosi says house will vote on it anyway this week.

Is anybody shocked by this? This was always going to be about permanently sticking it to the middle class and, over time, completely eliminating it.
The 2017 tax law signed by former President Donald Trump imposed a $10,000 limit on how much state and local taxes (including property taxes) that households can deduct from their federal taxes.

Interesting. I thought Trump was just a puppet for the rich?

Pelosi Pushes Manchin: Speaker puts paid leave back in Biden $1.75T spending bill

Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday put paid family leave back in the House of Representatives’ version of President Biden’s $1.75 trillion social spending bill in response to Sen. Joe Manchin’s opposition to the provision.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) appeared to drop the gauntlet at the feet of Manchin (D-WV), telling members of her caucus that while she initially planned to move forward with a bill that could pass both chambers without being amended, she has decided to alter course and ramp up pressure on the upper chamber.

The provision is expected to call for four weeks of paid family leave, a senior Democratic aide confirmed to The Post.

Scorched earth. Who could have ever foreseen that coming? Hopefully Manchin will tell Pelosi where she can stick her bill.

I believe they have seriously pissed him off at this point and made a major miss calculation.

WV has went further right in the past decade and climate change is something most don’t want to hear as it means lost coal and natural gad jobs for them.

They are playing chicken with the wrong guy.
