I doubt it... because the effect would be if we hired anyone not on the list (which, lets be honest is very likely), then we didn't get our top choice, we got our sixth man or worse

Marshall gets looked down upon because he's at Wichita State. He's improved every team he's taken the helm at.

That wasnt the point. What hes saying is why name drop people that you have no chance of landing like Wright, Dixon, et al.? Now even if you hire Marshall, a large percentage of the fanbase thinks he was at the bottom of the list when in effect, he should have been near the top. Its just stupid.

Nothing pisses me off more than a snob like Gary Parrish acting as if the Vol fanbase would not know if a coach was a good hire or not. Lots of credit being shown towards us. POS.

Well, to be fair, people are turning their noses up at coaches like Marshall and want relatively unproven coaches who happen to be the flavor of the week, like Shaka Smart.

I don't think it came from UT or anyone associated with them. Writer32 decided to throw some names out there and see what happens.

...going after him will just increase his salary and he won't come. What about Mark Gottfried..previous AL coach..I doubt he would come since he is an analyst now.

If this really did come from someone inside the AD, then clearly they didn't learn their lesson when they got publicly rejected by multiple coaches during the football search.

As such, I have trouble believing that this list is supported by anything other than the author's guesswork.

Even some of the UNC fanbase didnt think Roy Williams was a good hire. I dont think it was a knock on UTK personally but most fanbases have a large percentage of ignorant followers.
