Got a proposal for you. Let's let the coaches develop these guys. Let's trust their talent evaluations recognizing that it isn't our job at stake if they're wrong.

Then instead of worrying so much about having to be "top 4"... consider that the teams in the CPF this year are #1.... #6.... #14... and #26.

UT needs to develop a roster with top level talent. That may or may not be indicated by having a top 4 mythical ranking by journalists.

While I agree with your thoughts, I'm still going back to playmakers. We run a up tempo, big play offense. We have the trigger man...I hope, but where are our game breakers at WR? Kiffin got a good one in Wells. Do we have guys in the secondary who can make plays for us? They didn't play a lot of youth so who really knows? We have to hope there are some really talented gems on our roster and in this class, but will they help us in year 1 of the Nico era? Really thought we'd be much better in the portal this year, but I'm not seeing the difference makers. We're getting quality pieces but not guys who appear to be THAT kind of dude. Solid....just solid.

Evan Stewart would kill it in TN’s offense so adding a WR should be on the list although I will admit, I’m a big Mike Matthews fan. He’s been quiet and I think he gets overlooked by many. I don’t believe many will be overlooking him on Saturdays, however.

Same thought, but I'm not sure Bru will be back or ready. Thornton might make a move but might not. If we could grab Stewart, it would be huge.

"They will not do better than 9-3". Is 10-2 worse than 9-3? Because that's their record this year.

I get that people hate Kiffin and so by extension Ole Miss. I do too. But they will be a contender for the West title next year with all the defensive talent they are bringing in. They got Florida's best DE also, a guy with 21 tackles for loss and 7 sacks. Their DL will be unreal next year.

The west is gone man…what does this past year record mean for next year. Did our 11 win season in 2022 produce a 10 win season in 2023. Im saying they won’t do better in 2024. They will lose to Georgia, they will lose on the road to LSU at the end of an 8 game stretch with no off week, and they will lose another game sometime during the year. Then they will have no coach and no players and be back to 6-8 wins after that. If they do win 10, then good for them. They will get destroyed in playoffs and still will lose their coach and players…hahahaha

Where’s Napier going? We saved his job by losing to them. I’m sure we will try to do the same next year.

He will be fired regardless if he beats Vols next year…go look at their final 5 games and get back to me, then Kiffen will leave Ole Miss high and dry for Gainesville.

Given the talent they have coming in, they will be tough next year.

Honestly, I'd rather be wrong, but I am not going to dismiss them just based on a gut feeling, like you seem to be doing.

You say that, but who is to say he's not getting the NFL min or something like it to go to Ole Miss. FWIW, I heard he was asking a lot from Spyre and that's one reason he's gone.

It could go either way with what Kiffin did portal wise IMO, I saw a forum on Portal selection and they said chemistry is one of the main things for your culture and getting wins as a team. They went on to say not all but the chances of getting a me, me, me player out of the portal is at a higher % because of the nature of the," if things don't go my way I'm gonna shake things up", being a bit higher in those individuals. Being selective is a must IMO, I actually like the way Josh is handling the portal I think he's looking at it more than just I'll win next year and move on to a bigger job or hold out for a bump/raise. Also being very selective due to the sanctions and limited numbers. Guys like WR Brazzell who has 3 years to play etc. tells me he's looking to not just next year but also the future. We shall see how it plays out the portal is in its infancy, its trial & error right now.
