9 Gator Starters Gone (Rubbing Hands)

Usually when we play the Gators we have no idea what kind of team we have. Not this year.

Utah State 8/31
Arkansas State 9/6
at Oklahoma 9/13
at Georgia 9/27

Then we play the Gators . . . in October? Strange schedule this year. Point is, if we aren't injured from those first 4 games, we'll have a pretty good idea what our chances are against Florida.

Yes, and they get a bye week to gameplan for us, and heal up, while we travel to Georgia the week before...

I'm not going to predict we beat Florida, even if Florida is winless going into our game and we are undefeated, I still won't predict a win.

I will, however, make this prediction: IF we beat Florida, Muschamp is gone the next day.

Florida and Auburn give the Vols nightmares. The Vols must first be able to match up in talent and then work on their fear of the Gator/Auburn Ghost. Like someone else stated, Florida could field UTC's football team and win by 14 points, and that's the scary part.

Take heart. Do you think North or Malone or Pearson or any of our other receivers are going to be afraid of FU's DB's? Will our monster TE's make a huge difference over the past? Do you think we'll have the absurd QB debacle we had last year? Do you think our DB's are going to be out of breath by the 3rd quarter? Are our linebackers and safeties going to be slower than molasses? Will our OL be motivated? Can our
DL put pressure on FU's rookie QB? Will our RB's pound for 4 quarters? Can we spread out any defense? Is CBJ going to stutter in Muschamp's presence? I'm not scared, and neither is this group of Vols. Hang in there, bro. The tables have turned.:td:

Uh. Gee. That's like really hard. How 'bout Worley or Dobbs or Fergy............not Peterman who was the only available, ready option last season. I think you're serious.:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

I'm afraid you're right, they're always just a good coach from being not just good, but annual national contenders.

Yep. Dating all the way back to 1991. You guys must be kidding. Florida just got good in football when Spurrier coached there. Then Meyer had a great couple of years (see Tim Tebow) but did nothing else and quit soon after. This has been Florida's best chance to beat us (and to their credit, they have), and not the other way around. But the tables will turn. They always do. We don't have to be perfect or play perfect or anything like it. We've had our time dominating Georgia & Alabama. Two traditional powers and indeed our rivals in the SEC. We will skin some Gator hides too. Just make sure you are still a Vol fan when we do. #don'tquitonusyet :salute:

every time tennessee has lost to florida, it never had anything to do with florida having the better team.

tennessee has been better than florida every single year.

and even in the years where florida "ran up the score", tennessee should have won.

Just answer the question.

Actually, UF has been "good" at football dating back to Ray Graves. We definitely underachieved from a championship standpoint until Spurrier came along.

Also, a quick glance at our head-to-head matchups before Spurrier favors UF dating back to the 1960s.

That said, I think you guys end the streak in five months. It's bound to happen at some point.
