9 Gator Starters Gone (Rubbing Hands)

A little sarcasm there 99? :)

Seriously, Tennessee had the better team for a few of those match-ups and there were others that Florida was the better team talent wise.

Florida had two advantage's Tennessee "rarely" did. Spurrier and confidence.

But we're 2-10 against them since Spurrier left.

Can our DL put pressure on FU's rookie QB?

Rookie QB? I thought they still had Driskel there? Did someone beat him out in the spring?

I know UF fans seem to hate Driskel but unfortunately he probably had the best game of his career against us last time they were here and he has a ton of big game experience, wasn't he their starter when they won 11 games?

i will be fair to jeff and also try to be honest.

he's a runner. so, if the offense fits his skills, he can be productive.

he can throw, but he is not a "passer" and doesn't read defenses worth a damn. if they can make everything simple and give him easy reads he can be productive.

florida will almost exclusively be in the shotgun as apparently there was a big difference in production while in the shotgun as opposed to under center.

I thought he had another year, I was confused when someone said they had a rookie QB, which would have been a huge advantage for UT in my opinion. This Driskel kid has already played numerous games in the SEC, heck he's even played at Neyland already, and played very well at Neyland. Maybe they meant rookie qb because of the new offense?

We're 6-22 against them since 1975, and you pick out two games both over a decade ago to hang your hat on?

:eek:k: :good!:

This number never stops making me want to vomit. Since 1975, we have beaten Florida exactly ONE more time than Vandy has beaten us.

:pukeb:

Acc to ESPN:

Easley
Roberson
Watkins
Powell
Purifoy
Harrison
Halapio
Patton
Burton [really glad he's gone]

all but Roberson, Ease and Harrison(push with Garcia) replace by better players. Two positives from last season is open comp and youger guys got game reps. DL and DB will be young but deep and athletic. Wr will be a most improved unit. Fulwood, Bailey, Pittman and Woton will move the chains. D Robinson has elite combo of size and speed(off the field is his issue). Running game with Taylor, Brown, Powell and Lane will be productive. Getting McGee(ex Va TE) will win us an extra game or two. Enough playmakers on each side for 8 wins.

Take heart. Do you think North or Malone or Pearson or any of our other receivers are going to be afraid of FU's DB's? Will our monster TE's make a huge difference over the past? Do you think we'll have the absurd QB debacle we had last year? Do you think our DB's are going to be out of breath by the 3rd quarter? Are our linebackers and safeties going to be slower than molasses? Will our OL be motivated? Can our
DL put pressure on FU's rookie QB? Will our RB's pound for 4 quarters? Can we spread out any defense? Is CBJ going to stutter in Muschamp's presence? I'm not scared, and neither is this group of Vols. Hang in there, bro. The tables have turned.:td:

If you think Dom Ease ate Tiny and your OL lunch last yr..Fowler, Bullard, Bos and Willis are lined up at the buffet for a Fr and Walkon OT's. lol

If you don't think that loss was solely on the Vols first half poor QB play, then you don't understand how football works.

Then again, based on your grammar, I wouldn't say you understand much of anything.

You're right...Peterman and Worley had trouble containing Tyler Murphy throughout the second half.

Sucks that Dobbs didn't get a chance to line up at DE or LB.

If you don't think Florida had its own version of the three stooges going on out there, then you don't understand how football works.

Punter drops a snap. Snap hits a qb in the face. Qb throws a pick six a day and a half late. We catch a pick six but tackle our own guy.

Florida and Tennessee owed CBS an apology that day

4-11. 5 yards. Our offense scored 10 points and it didn't happen until Worley was in the game.

I don't care if you're playing a crap 4-8 team that is worse than GA Southern, you absolutely, indisputably, without question cannot win when your offense consists of 5 throwing yards and 0 points in the first half.

grammar smack talk on a football msg board...Vols have fallen to Vandy's trash talk level.

Allowing that crap 4-8 team who lost to Georgia Southern to score 31 poins with a back-up QB doesn't help either.

Our defense was better than your offense last year, with or without Worley.

Gary Danielson said as much during the game.

It was ugly football on both sides.

Just answer the question....whatever the question was.

He said he started a few games last year, another posted a picture of the two FL players blocking each other in a game and asked which player he was. I (jokingly) told him to answer the question. I even linked to the post. It wasn't complicated.

Interesting.

Our offense, with Dobbs/Peterman starting half the season (neither of which were as good as Worley last year) averaged 23.8 ppg.

Meanwhile, your defense allowed 21.1 ppg.

sooooo........

yeah........

And we scored that with a Dobbs-led offense scoring a total of 13 points against 2 of our opponents.
