The response used the word motivate. Never did I use the word motivated in my post. No, his last 10 years he did not show much motivation. However, All you people seem to focus on his last 10 years. In reality He actually won eastern division titles in 01, 03, 04, and 07. Lost to an undefeated Auburn team by 10 even with his poor recruiting his final decade. But, that's not the statement being made. The embarrassment of getting fired, at least to me, would be enough to come back with a vengeance. That's the statement that was made. Not that he needed motivation. Sorry I had to explain it as if you were a 2 year old. But when it comes to Fulmer, you all seem to have tunnel vision.

1) Where is the SEC titles with those eastern championships? Oh, yeah, he finished second. That's great for USClite.

2) We focus on his last ten years because ten years is a pretty damn long time to figure out if he can lead us back to titles.

3) So, he didn't want to prove he could win titles after 10 years? Same difference.

Maybe someday they will start giving out the Phillip Fulmer trophy for coming in second. Will probably look something like this.

1. The sec west has been loaded the last decade. The caliper of players, based on his recruiting, didn't play at the level needed. However, once again you've entirely misread what I'm saying.

2. Going back to your statement, not addressing what I actually posted yet again.

3. Yet again, not addressing what I said. Going back to acting like I'm okay with his last 10 years. Which I never said.

Stop. Take a deep breath. Open your eyes, and read the posts. If I had to choose between Dooley and Fulmer as an experiment, I'd choose the coach that has proven himself in the past. I also, and focus on this part, think that the firing opened his eyes to what really needs to be done. It showed him he's expected to win and that if he can't do it, even though the athletic department has failed miserably at it, they'll find someone else that will.

What we're doing now isn't working. I'd rather pay Dooley his buyouts and bring Fulmer back on a 1 year contract than see this crappy football that I've witnessed the past 2 years. This was the first year vol football became comical to me.

1. Wasn't an issue for Georgia and Florida.

2. Sorry. Fulmer had ten years to prove himself. He doesn't deserve another chance.

3. So we should ignore his past ten years and bring him back?

He had that chance when we were paying him $3M a year, and he was doing ****. He blew it, he doesn't deserve another chance. He had that chance in 2005, and he did nothing with it.

I'd rather give Dooley a chance, than bring back a coach who for 10 years showed he couldn't win a title.

Well, your idols senior class did not help Dooley much.
Yeah I guess your right. It's Fulmers fault Dooley couldn't get the job done against Kentucky and lowered the moral of the team so low that they didn't even want to play in a bowl game. Damn, Fulmers got some pull. Next you'll blame Fulmer for the fact Dooley hasn't ever come from behind to win a game after halftime. Keep em comin.

Would anybody like to take a guess at the last ten win regular season under Fulmer's watch? Anybody?

2003.

And I'd rather bring back a coach that has proven himself in the past rather than listen to excuses about how his players cost us the game for another season.

Fact is, I respect your opinion. Respect mine.

And they lost the peach bowl that year. Same record in 2004 with a cotton bowl win. Just sayin.

Anyone care to guess how long it'll take Dooley to get to a 10 win season? Remember though, it requires sec games which means he can't buy out of the tough games.

A friend of mine in ADs office has indicated that a group of board of trustees and some big donors are lobbying for one more shot at Fulmer group..they want Fulmer, Chavis along with some big shot OC..(if not Cutcliffe)..Hart is said to be against this idea..he isn't willing to take any such back step and also is willing to give Dooley few more years..interestingly Hart likes both our OC and DC...It will be interesting to see how much longer he can handle that pressure from so called "influencial" group...!!!

:yikes: I bet Fulmer wishes he had Hart as AD

I fail to see this lack of respect that you speak of, you are the only one that has called anyone ignorant.

Ignorant in the fact he fails to read before he responds. His argument regarding his opinions are just as solid as mine. It's just a different route. Thanks for your 2 cents though.

ignorant in the fact he fails to read before he responds. His argument regarding his opinions are just as solid as mine if we just pretend that a whole decade didn't happen. Also in my argument it is ok to use the excuse that the sec west was loaded even though from 2000 to 2008 the sec east actually had a winning record over the west, who cares about those pesky little details

Lol. If that's what you have to resort to that's fine kid. Just shows everyone it's easier for you to point fingers than respond intelligently. I can see why you back the current coach.

Quit making assumptions, where did I ever say I back Dooley? Like it or not if we get rid of Dooley, Fulmer will not even be considered a canidate and there are an unlimited amount of good reasons for that.

And I never said he would. All I gave was my opinion of why we should. Good thing it is what it is....an opinion.

Anybody but Fulmer! I don't care where or how much criticism there is about Dooley, I still support him and his staff, unlike many of my fair weather Vol fans. Some of you have such little faith. Losing to KY isn't the end of the world. You're spoiled and have been spoiled. Look around, every college has gone through this stuff, just like Alabama and now Florida. Spurrier didn't turn SCe around in a couple of years either; it took time for him to get the recruits he needed. But Noooooooooo, you can't wait; back to the instant gratification crowd. I don't want to wait any longer than anyone else but I have the wisdom to know it isn't happening overnight I don't care who the coach is.

Does this plan also include a time portal that will take you back to 1988? And only goes one way? And, also, there's dinosaurs?

Because that would make even more sense.

wasn't that an 70s TV show ? Land of the lost.
