And you're an expert right? Sorry, but if I was fired from a job and asked to come back I'd have something to prove. Hire him and allow him to hire whoever he wants and spend the money to make sure they come. I honestly think he's got something to prove.

A sega genesis with new controllers is still a sega genesis.

Yea fulmer has a good overall record. Thing is it was built by the first few years of his career. The second half his career was unimpressive.

Fulmer doesn't want to coach again. He's had all the chances he could have wanted the past few years. No bcs school wants him. Maybe someone like Memphis or UAB but no one good.

Having fulmer as a head coach would be like entering the Indy 500 with a 70s Buick.

Amazing how many people with "inside connections" have come out of the woodwork these past three days.

Agreed! Until people start backing up the 'inside connections' with some names or facts, it is just another rumor!:hi:

I still think the graduate assistants need their own thread. Why are we leaving them out?

People are right. Tennessee is being run by a bunch of good old boys. I hope Hart would never even think about this.

A friend of mine in ADs office has indicated that a group of board of trustees and some big donors are lobbying for one more shot at Fulmer group..they want Fulmer, Chavis along with some big shot OC..(if not Cutcliffe)..Hart is said to be against this idea..he isn't willing to take any such back step and also is willing to give Dooley few more years..interestingly Hart likes both our OC and DC...It will be interesting to see how much longer he can handle that pressure from so called "influencial" group...!!!

I would be totally shocked if this had any legs at all. don't doubt a few of that group would have this idea, but it wouldn't travel far. I seriously doubt Hart would even have to respond. others within those groups will nip it.

OK...so the Kansas State experiment worked kind of all right this year...but come on does ANYONE really see Fulmer coming back and having more than 2 years (even if he is successful) on the sidelines...so that would be what, 4 coaching changes in 5 years...ridiculous...

Brilliant idea. Let's bring Fulmer back, sign him to a 1 year contract and then see how that plays with recruits who will have no idea whether he will be here or not after one year.

His recruiting stunk bad enough in the last few years. If this happened it would make that #35 ranked class in 2006 look great in comparison.

Prove what you are saying or it will be another wild rumor that is not true.

If you DON"T have a friend in the AD's office click thumbs up....I would like to know how few of us there are.

Phil is laughing all the way to the bank. If you believe the fire Dooley noise is bad, bring Fulmer back and we would have Occupy Ayres Hall riots.

I was proud of what Fulmer did for a decade. He has set the standard. But he sure made a mess of things before he was canned. Dooley is catching the blame for Fulmer's failures. Kiffin just poured gasoline on the fire. Kiffin stuck a knife in a dead corpse of a program and most of the good players he recruited baled out of an already depleted roster. It was a disaster and still is. Phil is not coming back. Thank goodness.

YEAH RIGHT...WHAT IDOT ON THE BOARD would think CHAVIS would come back to UT...:eek:lol:

CPF is such a HOT COACH he hasnt even been on any list for hires for other colleges...not sure where any "influencial" group would even think this would be a good hire

My sources say that Fulmer will be hired and Hart is already talking to Rocky Top Books, UT Bookstore and Hound Dogs to release a orange t-shirt with the saying "Working like heck" with Fulmer's face on the back...
Hart is said to be wearing it on Fulmer's press conference and will bring former UT player Josh Briscoe to introduce Fulmer. TIFWIW

This is ridiculous and the reason the football program is struggling right now. The board of trustees and the fanbase is so divided. Maybe we should all support our coaching staff instead of let's bring back Fulmer or pay $5 a year for a big time coach. Fulmer and Chavis were part of the reason the programmed declined. Both became complacent and lazy in recruiting. Fulmer would never hire an OC that overshadowed him bc he is afraid they will take his job much like he did with Johnny Majors. Cutcliffe won't leave Duke unless fired and UT will have a Randy Sanders or Dave Clawson as OC. The Chief's defense only works with talented big boys up front.

Chaney is a good OC. He just needs the players to buy in and maybe make some adjustments of his own. Wilcox is a rising star. Dooley is a good figure at the top. He needs to change the OL coach, DB coach, and ST coach. He should add a RB coach to the staff and bring in a former kicker as a GA to help Palardy.

The Tennessee fanbase, media, and Board of Trustees needs to stop living in the past and support the staff in place now. If Dooley doesn't get it done next year with a healthy team loaded with Juniors, then make a move at the coaching position. Let Dooley bring in a top recruiting class this year and no matter what, Fulmer should never be rehired. I hope he lands a job at another school so this topic dies forever. There is a reason no one has hired him from another school. Think about that.

I would approve of this if and only if we could get Sanders and Clawson as Co-Offensive Coordinators. That would be soooo awesome!!!!!
