A & M's New Stadium. I know this is trivial but...

Should we expand?

With technology these days I wouldn't expand. Gets harder and harder to fill and longer ROI. A&m lives in large market so they will prob be fine but we should stay put

301??

Future Kyle Field capacity - 102,500
Neyland Stadium current capacity - 102,455

102,500 seats - 102,455 seats = 45 seats

46 seats would take our title back.

Sorry, ESPN edited the article. Originally they had us listed at 102,200 capacity. I guess someone corrected them, and they changed it. That's where I got the number from in my original calculation.

Normally my math skills aren't that bad!

I would rather Neyland be a feared place to play than having the largest capacity. I think the Tennessee Terrace further toned down the intimidation factor. It looks like a porch up there instead of a stadium.

For those going to Oregon next year I'm interested in hearing about the stadium noise and experience considering it seats about half of Neyland.

Ehh who cares if Kyle Field sets 45 more people than Neyland.....Let 'em have their fun. 45 extra people doesn't take away from the experience of being in Neyland or our rich tradition. They'll go thru a rough patch and feel just as silly as the other programs who land on hard times and have tons of empty seats.

Having the stadium with the greatest number of seats is only impressive if there is an a$$ in every single one of them.

Adding 15,000 seats would only mean money spent and a stadium that looks even more empty. I think we should get back to selling out what we have before we worry over adding more.

correct

and

wins and championships put butts in seats

>$200mil stadium renovation does not create wins

I'd be OK with less seats if they would install actual seats instead of the blenchers.

If Neyland had seats instead of bleachers it would hold about 88K when you reduce the # of rows to accommodate the seats.

Neylands capacity is 102,455...

The most we've ever had was 109,061 against Florida in '04 when our freshman kicker hit that 50 somethin yard field goal with just a few seconds left and we won 30-28. (Which unfortunately I think was our last win against them)

Kyle Field can expand all they want but they won't ever beat our fan base in the category of crazy, wild, and "I'm coming in to watch the game whether you like it or not"

Those old attendance numbers are made up...however when I was in school the ticket office issued SRO tickets. I don't think they've had those for a while, though. And Wilhoit wasn't a Freshman.

Where have you been for the last decade? Neyland hasn't been wild and crazy since the end of that '04 UF game.

I mainly believe the reason they decided to add seats is for all their male cheerleaders or as they call them, Yell leaders. They took the notion of male cheerleaders, put them on steroids and developed yell leaders. If you're a freshman, before you start school they teach you all the Aggie cheers and do
hand signals for all the cheers during the game.

My bad... Was he a sophomore? Either way, you get the idea. That part doesn't really matter.

And Tennessee fans have always been wild and crazy. They have been a little depressed lately, but it's still in them! Especially me

Vol fans have traditionally been some of the more benign fans in the SEC.. don't know where you got the idea of "wild and crazy"

the noise in Neyland is a function of sheer numbers..

at the guy standing in front of you while you're trying to see?

Oh so you are one of the D-Bags who tells me to sit down at EVERY UT game I've been to? I can't freaking stand that..if you wanna sit there quietly and watch the game...stay home.
