I disagree. Although let's play a little game. I'll take my rotation and lineup, and you give me your lineup:

Maddux
Randy Johnson
Bob Gibson
Satchel Paige (in his prime)
Warren Spahn

LF Rickey Henderson
1B Stan Musial
CF Mickey Mantle
3B Mike Schmidt
DH Barry BondsRF Hank Aaron
2B Joe Morgan
SS Alex Rodriguez C Johnny Bench

With or without roids?

I can field the 2011 Yankees. Tall order, give me a minute.

I'm a huge Maddux fan, but he just didn't have dominant stuff like those guys. He'd be hard to take over guys like Gibson, Tiant, Feller, Spahn, Clemens, Halladay, Carlton etc. If you're going to use a couple seasons, why not Denny McLain?

Agree, but his results were just as good or better than almost all of those guys.

I understand what you are saying. And I understand that Mad Dog didn't have the stuff of legends. But what he did (along with Pedro) in the steroid era, to me, put's him in there.
Agreed on both, but they aren't Koufax. Pedro was as dominant anyone of my lifetime. Before he lost his high end heat, he was damn near unhittable.

Give me Mantle in Center before the knee injury, Bench behind the plate and Koufax on the mound.

Ballgame.

The way Maddux was able to induce ground balls in his prime was absolutley ridiculous.

He changed hitters eye levels better than anyone I've ever had the privilege of watching.

Koufax's five year run is probably the greatest pitching stretch in baseball history.

I remember watching Pedro right before he lost (although I was still quite young) and he's easily on of the 5-7 greatest pitchers of all time.

I'm not old enough to remember Koufax, but I remember my dad saying he was one of the most dominant guys he ever watched pitch.

Good team, but I'd take Mays in center, Brooks at third and anyone but ARod at short, probably Banks. Might take Rose on first.

Hard to argue with Cobb setting the table, otherwise I'd have gone that route.

Not playoffs.

He had a 3.27 ERA in the playoffs, and a 2.09 in the World Series. He was still pretty good. Take out his last few years in the playoffs (once he hit about 34) and his ERA is about 50 points lower (if I figured that correctly).

I would agree with having Brooks on thrid, the best fielding third basemen ever in my opinion.. However, I would have to say ARod at short was a good call. He was damn good playing there.

My grandfather (who was not a Yankee's fan) told me "Son, Mickey Mantle before the knee injury is the greatest baseball player God ever made. Don't you ever forget that."

Struggle with ARod because he's a chronic loser.
