Active Players to Cooperstown

My grandfather gave me a book with every single MLB player to ever play a game through 1983. The ultimate baseball almanac or something to that exent and it's one of my favorite possessions.

Those are great reads.

Ball Four by Jim Bouton is another must read for any baseball fan.

I'm lookin at Barry Bonds' 2004 stats. It's just unbelievable.

He walked 232 times!!! 120 IBB!!! He had a .609 OBP. He slugged .812...at 39!!! His OPS was 1.422...just incredible.

I shall read it. I need to go to the library and get me a couple baseball books.

Pictures. Make the story.

I have the Encyclopedia, love it. I love this game.

Was an incredible defender from all accounts too.

Caught everyday, hit above .300 and was on the cover of Time Magazine.

Also is the reason for Mickey Mantle being named Mickey. Mutt Mantle worshiped him.

Cochrane?

Great player, but Bench was the best ever IMO. Cochrane was the better all around defender from what I understand. Bench had that cannon and hit 4 hole in one of the best lineups ever.

My favorite game. I watch as many baseball games as I can. My favorite hobby is the Atlanta Braves. It's sad lol

Fair enough. Do you want the Veal or the Lamb? Basically

They all end the same when you're debating the best from different eras. Apat always this debate, except about Ruth.

I don't know if Ruth is the greatest player ever. He is easily the most dominant player ever (if that makes sense).

I probably have every Topps card from 87 (wood grain) to 91 (italics).

No sets, just lots of 50 cent packs.

87 were a very poorly done tribute to the 62 set. Neither looks great, but the 62s are muc better looking. I have all the Topps complete sets from 70 - 92. Have many interesting singles from prior and all around.

Perfect I'm Not by David Wells
The Captain (Derek Jeter)
Of Mikes and Men by pete Van Wieren
The Yankee Years (Joe Torre)

All have been recent reads.

I've been meaning to read Mikes and Men

Doesn't. He was the best. Had he not gotten fat and lazy, it would be so absurdly skewed his way that it wouldn't be worth the conversations.
