While we all may debate the causes and remedies for the terrible event occurring today please take a moment(or two) to think about those who lost their lives. 3 9 yr olds whose will never grow up and whose families will never fully recover. I knew the Head of School Katherine Koonce. She was the finest person who cared deeply about her students and put great thought/effort into helping them achieve bright futures. Details to emerge but I don't doubt that she likely was trying to protect those students when senselessly killed. I am heartsick to think of her loss as well the others. Try to be kind to one another here and think before typing.

Supposedly she got at least 2 of the 3 weapons legally. I am suggesting that whoever sold her the guns legally either didn’t do a deep background check or there was nothing there to tip them off that there may have been a problem. According to news reports, she had no record. Are private gun owners in TN required to do background checks if they sell someone a gun? I’m not familiar with those laws. One way or another, I think it will be shown that something fell through the cracks here.

If she had no record, why are you accusing them of doing an inadequate background check?

Why do you assume something always has to have fallen through the cracks? No matter how many cracks you create for things to possibly fall through, bad things will still happen. You accept that, right?

More high level military, would you prefer a guy that watched movies to train them. Let the SWAT trainers train them but these teachers in that situation are thrown directly into a high stress combat environment at that moment that requires high level training. Not any couch coach can specialize a method to take out an active shooter.

It is the threat if knowing/ thinking that you are not going into a soft target imo.. Metro PD handled accordingly, and I would bet she (the shooter) wasn’t banking on that little wrinkle

That's a double-edged sword. Simply blaming the "trans movement" ignores that society itself does not accept these people and makes them feel like misfits. It's the ostracizing that drives them to extremism. We live in a world where people ignore the simple idea of "live and let live". People should be allowed to live without ridicule. As long as they are not infringing upon the rights of others, they should be free to live as they choose. It's when the rights of others are infringed that laws are broken.

99% of school shooters don't fall under that category though. I think the more likely scenario is this trans woman probably wasn't treated very well as a student by her christian peers and teachers and blamed her life being messed up on that.

I’m sure this has been asked. But is the media now going to change their reporting?

If the shooter identified as male, then a 28 year old male was the shooter. Not affirming their gender is a micro-aggression and hate speech. Are we gonna be consistent or not?

I started to type out a similar post two different times, but decided to delete it. I thought if she "identified as male", then she's a male.
