Take away his d-coordinator and he would be handing tickets out at Wendys to get people to games. The man was a pathetic OC at Maryland. His offense was worse this year with an easier schedule and better offense. He is a good hype man, and recruiter, but not coach.

That's just plain stupid. Ken Sparks wouldn't win a single game. He coaches the Veer on offense and his teams never play good defense.

Our fans need to get over the fact that Franklin coaches Vandy. If you have a winning record at Vandy and you are recruiting Top 15-20 classes there, then you are a great coach, PERIOD !!!

Honestly would you say strong is a better hire than franklin? I like both but franklin has a more impressive resume with the deck stacked against him. Vandy is a winning program headed in a great direction.

If we are going to envy Vandy's HC after them having a decent season, them I'm out. Seriously don't think I'd follow the Vols for a long time. We're humilitated enough. Dooley had an 8-4 season at La Tech, and they went to a bowl. Franklin sucked so bad as a coordinator, he helped get his HC fired at Maryland.

I WILL NOT set foot inside Neyland stadium if James Franklin is hired at UT. I'm sure this is all spreading from Clay Travis' ridiculous list. Also could be Hart's plan to "let people down easy" after not wanting to hire Gruden. Strong or Fedora look a lot better vs Franklin.

I agree. Franklin would be way better than Strong, especially in recruiting. Franklin is dynamic and draws kids. Strong is very dull.

Wow! UT fans not wanting a guy because he's at Vandy?
We SUCK right now and that guy would re-energize the recruiting trail and the fans.

2 of my friends are at the state games nad Franklin is there. They got a pic with him and said that a guy wearing a UT hat asked for a pic and he said no.

Damn right! Ever heard of Gerry DiNardo? That's what you got. Franklin hasn't done shiite...just like DiNardo. Ask an LSU fan who remembers them hiring him away from Vandy.

I would be happy with his hire; Strong would be okay; HELL NO to Golden, Jones, Fedora, Dykes, etc. If we get one of those pant loads....should have kept Dooley and saved the buyout money. Results will be the same.

Yea, that's real believable. I had a UT hat and shirt on when I talked to him and he was very nice and took the time to talk football with me.

BINGO. Idiots in our fan base just don't want him out of pride because he is Vandy's coach. These stupid people actually think we are too good to settle for Vandy's coach. What they haven't accepted is that we absolutely suck and need anybody who is great at recruiting like Franklin, no matter where they come from.
